Rodney Sanders Extends USMTS Hunt Lead with Lakeside Victory

Happy, Texas (08/26/15) – Rodney Sanders claimed his second Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) victory of the season in his Swan Energy #20 MB Customs/Geddes Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified with a $3,500 triumph on Friday evening at Lakeside Speedway.

Rodney Sanders made the trip to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday for the next round of the Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey’s Cup. Drawing a field of thirty-five cars, Sanders scored a 3rd place finish in his heat, transferring him into the A-Main. With $3,500 on the line, Rodney charged from his 11th place starting spot to capture his 22nd victory of the season. Ousting Jason Krohn, Johnny Scott, Stormy Scott, and Shad Badder, Rodney Sanders improved ten spots in the 35-lap feature.

“This was a big night for our team because not only did we get the win, but we were able to stretch our advantage atop the standings,” said Sanders. “Hats off to my team for giving me a great car each and every night, and special thanks goes to my sponsors, who help make this happen.”

Sunday night’s event at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) fell victim to rain and will not be rescheduled.

Double Win Weekend for Billy Moyer Jr.

Batesville, Arkansas (08/26/15) – Billy Moyer Jr. parked his Crop Production Services #21jr Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model in victory lane twice over the weekend.

On Friday night Billy Moyer Jr. made the short trip to NEA Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) to compete in a Weekly Racing Series Event. Cruising to heat race victory, Moyer Jr. transferred into the feature with the pole position starting spot. The following night brought Billy to North Mississippi Motor Park Speedway (Corinth, Mississippi) for the $5,000-To-Win, Brent Means Memorial. Drawing a field of twenty-four Super Late Models, Moyer Jr. recorded the fastest time in qualifying. With rain threatening the program in time trials, the feature was rushed on the track based on qualifying results. Starting on the pole for the A-Main, Billy Moyer Jr. held off a late charge from Bub McCool to bring home his 5th victory on the season. Moyer Jr. led all 62 laps with Bub McCool, Ashley Newman, Tanner English, and Hunter Rasdon completing the top five finishers.

Eddie Carrier Jr. Bags Pair of Top Five Finishes; Pittsburgher Next

Salt Rock, West Virginia (08/26/15) - Eddie Carrier Jr. enjoyed a solid weekend in his Grover Motorsports #28 Optima Batteries/Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model as he raced to a pair of top five finishes.

On Friday night Eddie Carrier Jr. hopped on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WoOLMS) schedule, making the short trip to Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio). With forty-one Super Late Models signed in for the $8,000 to win feature, Eddie scored a runner-up finish in his heat, paving his way into the A-Main. Coming from the 7th starting spot, Carrier Jr. advanced five spots in the 40-lapper recording a 2nd place finish behind race winner, Josh Richards with Shane Clanton, Tim McCreadie, and Frank Heckenast rounding out the top five.

The following night brought Carrier Jr. to Lawrenceburg Speedway (Lawrenceburg, Indiana) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned, Whiskey City 50. Landing a runner-up finish to Scott Bloomquist in his heat, Eddie transferred into the feature event with the 6th starting spot. With $10,000 on the line, Eddie Carrier Jr. improved two spots in the 50-lapper scoring a 4th place outing behind Scott Bloomquist, Jonathan Davenport, and Jimmy Owens with Dennis Erb Jr. coming in 5th.
