NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 7 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Richie Stephens of Salem, AL drove his Rocketman Race Cars Chevrolet to his third NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies win of the 2015 season in Week 7 action on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.  That keeps Stephens on top of the National point standings with a 31 point lead over Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS.

That may seem like a pretty good point lead, but it is closer than one might think.  Stephens has 330 points after three wins, five top five finishes, and six top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition.  Strength has 299 points after five wins and eight top five finishes in eight races over just six weeks of competition.

The best way to show who may be the stronger of the top two drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division  standings is by figuring out their Weekly Point Averages, or WPAs, by dividing their respective point totals by the number of weeks they have competed.  Stephens has a WPA of 47.14 out of a possible 50, and Strength has a WPA of 49.63.

Strength has finished second in the three races that he has run that he did not win.  Two of those second-place finishes came in Week 7 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway and on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Sauls Farm Chevrolet.

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 294 points after four top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks.  Jarrell finished fourth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway driving the Jarrell Rigged Race Cars Chevrolet.

John Smartt of Manchester, TN finished second on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN to remain fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 276 points.  In six races, Smartt has three wins and six top five finishes driving the Frontline Race Cars Chevrolet.

Branden Harris of Molino, FL and Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS are tied for the fifth spot of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 271 points apiece.  Harris holds the tie-breaker advantage over Geddie with one win to none for Geddie.  Harris has one win and five top five finishes in six races, while Geddie has three top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six races.

Harris drove the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL.  Geddie finished eighth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the Geddie Tree Service Chevrolet.

The top five NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks in the point standings are powered by the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that is built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.  The Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine is an option to NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competitors over the higher priced specially built open engines.

The Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that won five of seven NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division  Week 7 races is in stock and available for $3,495 at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast.  To place an order, call Tim Bland at 1-877-497-3624.

David Williamson of Seminary, MS is seventh in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 259 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in six races.  Williamson drove the Sauls Farm Ford to a 14th-place finish Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Bill Stewart of Carriere, MS and Cliff Childers of Terry, MS are tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 233 points apiece.  Stewart has two wins and five top five finishes in five weeks of competition.  Childers has four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five races.

Stewart finished fifth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division  Week 7 competition driving the DGF Race Cars Chevrolet.  Childers drove the Reed’s Metal Racing Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.
