Revelution Race Cars Iron Man Speed Week presented by Arizona Sport Shirts September 3 through September 6

SOMERSET, KY (August 19, 2015)—The buzz and excitement is starting to build for what it sure to be four must-see events of dirt track racing competition over the 2015 Labor Day weekend as the Revelution Race Cars Iron-Man Speed Week presented by Arizona Sport Shirts for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Collins Signs Super Late Models and Iron-Man Modified Speed Week presented by American Racer South is set to take place over four consecutive nights at four different racing venues beginning Thursday September 3 and concluding Sunday September 6.     

The Iron-Man Speed Week 2015 activities will take place at four different venues in two states, beginning at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY on Thursday September 3, followed by a visit to Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday September 4, followed by a trip to Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY on Saturday September 5, and concluding at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN on Sunday September 6.   

The Revelution Race Cars Iron-Man Speedweek presented by Arizona Sport Shirts mini-tour will see four consecutive nights of Super Late Model competition that will also have the Open Wheel Modifieds as a part of the race program each evening.  The Ray Cook promoted Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Collins Signs will sanction all four nights of Super Late Model racing competition.

The Revelution Race Cars Iron-Man Speedweek presented by Arizona Sport Shirts will begin on Thursday September 3 at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY with the 6th Annual Roger Breeding Memorial, with the event at the Jarrod Breeding promoted track being 30 laps and paying $3,000 to win/$300 to start, along with the Iron Man Modified Speedweek presented by American Racer South, paying $1,000 to win/$100 to start the 20 lap main event, along with a regular show for the track’s Bombers and Four Cylinders divisions.  In addition, the Johnny Salyer Memorial A-Main for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil that was rained out back on April 2 will also be contested.  Activities for the event at 201 Speedway on Thursday September 3 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m.  Drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice at 7:15 p.m., followed immediately by Super Late Model time trials and green flag racing.  All times listed are Eastern Daylight Times.  Ticket prices at 201 Speedway for this event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.  For more information on 201 Speedway, click on www.201speedway.net.

The following is the starting line-up for the Johnny Salyer Memorial for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil that was rained out at 201 Speedway back on April 2 that will also be contested on Thursday September 3 prior to the Roger Breeding Memorial that evening, as of note, no other drivers will be allowed to start in this feature:

On Saturday September 5, Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY will present the inaugural Colonel Classic at the Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz promoted facility that will pay the Super Late Models $3,000 to win/$300 to start for 30 laps and Modifieds $1,000 to win /$100 to start for 20 laps.  The track’s KDRA Super Stock and Four Cylinder divisions will provide support division competition that evening.  Activities for the event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday September 5 will see the pit area open at 3:00, with the general admission area opening at 4:30 p.m.  Driver registration will close promptly at 5:45 p.m.  The drivers meeting will go at 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m., followed immediately by Super Late Model time trials and green flag racing.  All times listed are Eastern Daylight Times.  Ticket prices at Richmond Raceway for this event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.  For more information regarding Richmond Raceway, click on www.richmond-raceway.net

The action packed four-day weekend of racing competition will conclude on Sunday September 6 at Gary Hall’s Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN with the 7th Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial, with Super Late Models racing for 44 laps for $4,400 to win/$400 to start and Modifieds making a rare Tazewell Speedway appearance for $1,000 to win/$100 to start in a 20 lap main event. Providing support divisions at Tazewell Speedway on September 6 will be the track’s Late Model Sportsman and Super Stock divisions.  Activities at the Tazewell Speedway event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing.  Ticket prices at Tazewell Speedway for this event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.  For more information about Tazewell Speedway, visit www.tazewellspeedway.net.  Also at Tazewell Speedway, there will a huge FIREWORKS show to commemorate the Speedweeks final event.

The race format for Super Late Models at all four events will see practice, time trials (2 cars at a time/2 laps), heat races (10 laps), B-Mains (10 laps), and A-Main event.  The race format for the Modifieds at all four events will see the practice/time trial format in use to determine heat race starting positions, heat races (8 laps), B-Mains (10 laps), and a A-Main.

There will be a point fund paid to the top five Super Late Model drivers in points for the four-race weekend.  This purse is based on ALL four events being able to be contested:  1st- $1,000, 2nd- $800, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, and 5th- $300.

For Super Late Models, the tire rules at all four tracks for all four events will be as follows:  Hoosier- 1350 or 1600 rear only, open compound on front; American Racer- 48 or 56 rear only, open compound on the front.  Also, each event will start 22 cars and all entries that do not transfer, but run in their assigned B-Main, will receive $50 tow money.  The series entry fee for the events at 201, Ponderosa, and Richmond will be $70, plus there will be a $10 transponder rental fee.  At Tazewell, the entry fee will be $90, plus a $10 transponder rental fee.  All other rules and regulations will follow the 2015 Southern Nationals Bonus Series rules and procedures.  Also, there will be a $100 bonus to the highest finishing CT525 or 604 crate powered entry in the A-Main, along with a $100 bonus to the highest finishing all Steel/Spec engine powered entry in the A-Main only. 

For Modifieds, the tire rules for all four events will be as follows:  Hoosier A and H compounds on all four corners or American Racer Hard and Extra Hard on all four corners (with grooving of front tires allowed and siping of all tires allowed).  Body rules for the four races will be 2015 UMP DirtCar Modified rules, with a 2,400 lb. minimum weight.  Eighteen drivers will start the Open Wheel Modified A-Main each night and the individual tracks will be in charge of tow money for drivers not transferring to the A-Main.  The series entry fee will be $10 at all four events.

Officials with the Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Collins Signs will be handling the transponder timing and scoring for the Super Late Models and Modifieds at all four events.  The Westhold transponders will be used and pouches are available to rent for $5 if needed.
