BATTLE OF CHEVY SUPER SERIES WINNING BROTHERS AT 411 MOTOR SPEEDWAY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ATHENS, TN – When the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series competes this Saturday night in a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN, race fans will see a sight that has not been seen in six years.  Brothers Pierce and Mack McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN will be on the track together competing against each other.

Both brothers have winning records with the Chevy Super Series, as both won prestigious races last year in the same car.  Mack tamed the high banks of Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN winning the Buddy Rogers Memorial 44, and Pierce won the Alabama State Championship Race at East Alabama Motor Speedway.

For every victory one brother drove in, the other brother also played an important part in the accomplishment.  For the past six years, while one brother drove the race car, the other brother was the crew chief.

“When we first started racing, Mack and I were always competing against each other, and I guess we raced each other a little harder than our Mother liked,” Pierce McCarter said.  “She told us we couldn’t be on the track together anymore, but now, six years later, she has gained more confidence in our ability and maturity on the race track, and she is O.K. with us racing together.”

Pierce will be behind the wheel of the family super late model that each brother won with last season, and Mack will drive a Chevrolet Performance CT525 Racing Engine powered super late model for Mark Leach this Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway.

Mack’s ride will also be in action on Friday night in the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series $3,000-to-win 50-lap race at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN, where it will be driven by eight-time Atomic Speedway Late Model Champion and the 2002 Hav-A-Tampa Dirt Late Model Series Rookie of the Year Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN.

They will join Chevy Super Series regulars Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN, Tyler Crowder of Lamont, FL, Adam Martin of Talladega, AL, Mario Gresham of Rome, GA, Tim Busha of Boaz, AL, Jake Knowles of Rome, GA, Brandon Williams of Crossville, TN, Jadon Frame of Winchester, TN, Ross Martin of Talladega, AL, and Trevor Thompson of Dallas, GA.

Johnson, the defending Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series National Champion, leads Crowder by two points in the battle for the $10,000 National Championship.  Adam Martin is third in the National points, and leads the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year standings by 16 points over Gresham.

Other top competitors expected at 411 Motor Speedway this Saturday night for the $3,000-to-win 50-lap Chevy Super Series race include Tony Thompson of Ohatchee, AL, Lavon Sparks of Phenix City, AL, Matt Dooley of Brooks, GA, Jeff Smith of Dalton, GA, Forrest Trent of Talbott, TN, Jacob Grizzle of Blairsville, GA, Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN, Josh Johnson of Winchester, TN, and Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA.

Three fast local favorites from the Chevy Super Series sister series, the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will be at 411 Motor Speedway this Saturday night.  Ryan King of Seymour, TN, Matt Henderson of Loudon, TN and Cory Hedgecock of Lenoir City, TN will be ones to watch based on their knowledge of the track.

Race fans are encouraged to arrive early at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday, as the Chevy Super Series drivers and their race cars will be in the Chevy Fan Zone behind the main grandstand at 411 Motor Speedway from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Chevy Fan Zone gives both the competitors and the fans an opportunity to get to know each other on a personal basis in an effort to enhance their experience at Chevy Super Series events.  The fans are used to just seeing a race car going around the track while sitting in the stands, but at Chevy Super Series events, they will also know the person under the helmet sitting behind the wheel!

The cars and stars of the Chevy Super Series will be in the Chevy Fan Zone signing autographs, posing for photos, and kids will receive driver hero cards and coloring books.  The fans can also see the race cars, and the production-based LS3 engines that power them up close.  The chances are pretty good that several fans will have the same engine under the hood of the car they drove to the race track!

On Saturday at 411 Motor Speedway, the pit gate opens at 3 p.m. and the grandstand gate opens at 4 p.m.  Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The Chevy Fan Zone will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The Driver’s Meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.

411 Motor Speedway is located one mile south of U.S. Highway 441 on U.S. Highway 411 at 632 Maryville Highway, Seymour, TN  37865.  For more information call 865-257-7223 or visit the track web site at www.411motorspeedway.net and their Facebook page at 411 Motor Speedway.
