COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Set for Arkansas/Missouri Doubleheader

Pocola, Oklahoma (09/15/15) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil will go head-to-head with the MARS DIRTcar Series this weekend, September 18th-19th in a pair of co-sanctioned events in Arkansas and Missouri.

Last weekend Mother Nature won the opening event at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma), while Springfield, Missouri’s Jeremy Payne raced to his first-career, CCSDS victory on Saturday evening at Tri State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma).

The upcoming weekend will take the tour back to Outlaw Motor Speedway for the rescheduled event on Friday evening as well as to Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) on Saturday evening for a show-up point event.

With only three events remaining in the 2015 season Jack Sullivan continues to lead the series standings as the Greenbrier, Arkansas driver chases his first-career championship with the tour. Two-time, defending series champion, Kyle Beard continues to sit second in the standings, and will need a big weekend in Oklahoma if he hopes to gain ground in his pursuit of a third title. Shannon Scott, Gavin Landers, Robert Baker, Chandler Petty, Tommy Surrett, Clay Fisher, David Payne, and BJ Robinson complete the current top ten in the series standings.

Gavin Landers will clinch the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year title over Hunter Rasdon by entering this weekend’s events.

Both nights of this huge weekend will see the CCSDS competitors clashing against the MARS DIRTcar Series racers. The MARS contingent will be headed by two-time champion, and current point leader, Tony Jackson Jr. from Lebanon, Missouri. Justin Asplin, Brandon McCormick, Jeff Roth, Josh Hughes, and Jason Hughes are just some of the series’ competitors expected.

CCSDS returns to action on Friday, September 18th at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma) with a $2,500-to-win/$400-to-start affair at the state-of-the-art facility. The CCSDS visited the track in June, where Tyler Erb surged to the victory. The CCSDS competitors will be joined by Outlaw Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, Grand Nationals, and Pure Stocks. Adult general admission tickets are just $15 for adults; $10 for seniors and military; $5 for ages 6-12 and children 5 and under will be admitted for free. All pit passes are $30. Pit gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with racing slated for an 8:00 p.m. start time. For more information on the event, please visit www.OutlawMotorSpeedway.net .

On Saturday night, September 19th the CCSDS will now join the MARS DIRTcar Series in a co-sanctioned event at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri). The $3,000-to-win/$400-to-start event was added to the CCSDS schedule after the Outlaw Motor Speedway reschedule to allow a complete weekend for the competitors. The event will be a show-up point event for the tour. All local classes will be in action as part of the program. Pit gates open at 3:00 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:15 p.m. with racing action at 6:00 p.m. For more information on the event, please visit www.SpringfieldRaceway.com .
