Boyd cruises to second feature win at Whynot

Randy Boyd of Marion driving the Valentine motorsports / Coca Cola / Boland Performance Trak Star, cruised to his second feature win of the season Saturday night in the Late Model NeSmith Chevrolet weekly racing series feature race at Whynot Motorsports Park.  
 
Lucky Keeton reeled in Boyd on the final lap but did not have enough time to challenge for the win. "I didn't know Lucky was that close" Boyd said. "My car started getting loose about half way through the race in turns three and four so I slowed down a bit over there".
 
Keeton took second along with fast time during qualifying. Wiley Williams was third, Greg Dedwylder raced from 10th to fourth and Larry Murphy came from the rear to fininish fifth after missing qualifying and his heat race.
 
Randy King won the Open Wheel Modified feature event with Kyle Rutledge second, Tim Rutledge third, Bill Taylor fourth and Johnny Breeland fifth.
 
"Mr Whynot" Kyle Rutledge found his way back for victory lane in the Street Stock feature. Rutledge took the lead with five laps to go after a two lap side by side battle with Artis Bunyard. Bunyard finished second with Klye Mars third, Jeffrey Walker fourth, and David Minor fifth.
 
Johnny Pearson made it two in a row in the Mini Stock feature, while Austin Anderson finished second and Tyler Evans third.
 
"The Infield Idiot" Phillip Coleman picked up his second win of the season in the Stinger class, and Tim Culpepper was all smiles after picking up his first career win in this years new Pure Stock division.
 
Rodney Wing and his staff did a great job this weekend keeping the show moving right along as the racing concluded at 9:50 pm. Wing said earlier in the season the goal was to be finished by 10:30pm and on most nights have been that range with the exception of a few with rain delays or when the ambulance was called out.
