Murphy hangs on for second win of 2010 at Whynot

Larry Murphy of Meridian driving the Fears Motorsports/ Denton Hydraulics Machine and Welding/ Buddy's Tune Up and Brake Service/ Bo Haarala Autoplex/ GRT picked up his second win of the 2010 season Saturday night in the weekly NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model series at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Murphy qualified fourth on the night and won his heat giving him a front row starting position. He also wasted no time taking the early lead as Jim McDuffie followed close behind most of the race. McDuffie made a last ditch effort to pass Murphy on the final lap and got into the tractor tire on the inside of turn three. Lucky Keeton finished second, Randy Boyd third, Ray Paul fourth and Casey Haney in fifth.

Randy King of Meridian, driving the  Pee Wee's Performance Exhaust/ Etehridge Race Parts/ A-1 Glass/ Burgess Outdoor Power/ Custom Creations/ Dirt Works picked up his seventh win of the season in the Open Wheel Modified feature. Tim Rutledge finished second, Kyle Rutledge third, Paul Jones fourth and Tim Sullivan fifth.

"Mr. Whynot" Kyle Rutledge of Whynot, driving the Wilson's Septic Systems/ Advance Auto Parts/ LaPinata Mexican Restaurant/ Whynot Garage/ Sinclair Auto Sales/ Chevy Monte Carlo Street Stock, won his second Street Stock feature race of the season over Jeffery Walker in second,, Artis Bunyard third, David Turner fourth and Kevin Reeves fifth.

Al Folks picked up his first feature win in the Mini Stock division over Jennifer Shelton, David Franklin third and Joel Eckman fourth.

Coonie Luker won the Pure Stock feature. Tim Dees finished second, Tommy Nichols third, Andy Williams fourth and Tim Culpepper fifth.

Andy Taylor in the Custom Creations/ Pee Wee's Performance Exhaust/ Honda Accord won the Stinger feature, Brandon Leftwich finished second, Brian Holley third, Mindy Sissons fourth and Tracy Walker fifth.
