Bunyard wins thriller on final lap

Artis Bunyard of Toomsuba, driving the York Drugs/ Shon's Painting/ Kewanee One Stop/ STR race cars/ Pontiac Firebird, raced to his first feature win of the 2010 racing season in a thrilling race over Jeffery Walker of Whynot Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.
 
Bunyard and Walker battled door to door and nose to tail the entire race until Bunyard took the lead on the final lap for good taking home the win. Walker finished second, with "Mr Whynot" Kyle Rutledge third, Wayne Medders fouth and Joey Hiatt fifth.
 
Michael McCade took a wild ride on the back stretch during the Street Stock feature flipping his car upside down. McCade was able to walk away without injury.
 
Mike Boland of Cuba, AL Dominated the NeSmith Chevrolet weekly racing series Late Model feature driving the Keeton Motorsports/ Trak Star. Michael Arnold finished second with Randy Boyd third, Chris McElhenney fourth and Larry Murphy fifth.
 
Gregg Hollingsworth won an exciting race at the checkerd flag in the Open Wheel Modified feature over Randy King. The two battle for the lead the entire race, Hollingsworth bouned off the wall at the finish to take the win side by side with Randy King. King finished second, with Toby Hodge third, Tim Rutledge fourth and "Mr. Whynot" Kyle Rutledge fifth.
 
Tommy Nichols won the Pure Stock feature, with Tim Dees Second, Wayne Bucklew third, Logan Hembree fourth, and in his second career start, 12 year old Landon Hembree fifth.
 
Christian Shelby picked up his first win of the season in the Stinger feature, Brandon Leftwich finished second, Leslie Reese third, Cara Woodham fourth and Caleb Langford fifth.
 
Jennifer Shelton won her second feature in a row in the Shelton racing/ Ford Mustang
