Rebel Challenge Weekly Racing Series (RCWRS)
Frequently Asked Questions
1-Is this a touring series? NO. The RCWRS is intended to allow weekly racers the opportunity to compete against other weekly racers across the entire RCWRS sanction tracks without having to incur excessive travel and to also place emphasis on the weekly racers and weekly racing events at participating tracks.
2-Is this a “Track Championship?” NO. The RCWRS points are awarded to any member driver at any RCWRS track. It works the same as sanctioning bodies such as IMCA and UMP where you compete against all the drivers running at sanctioned tracks versus just the drivers at your track.
The bottom line is that you count your 18 best finishes point’s total that was gained by racing at any of the RCWRS sanctioned tracks. You can run as many RCWRS events as your schedule allows you but only your 18 best finishes will count.
For EXAMPLE: When the RCWRS season is over, a driver might find that his 18 best finishes included finishes from a number of different tracks. The driver may have used points earned at Moulton Speedway, North Alabama Speedway, Columbus Speedway, and Talladega Short Track. The driver creates his own schedule on how he feels he can earn the most points.
There may be other drivers that simply use points they accumulated at only 1 track as well. It is up to the driver on where and how many times he wants to race in order to earn RCWRS points.
The bottom line is that it is not where you race but how many points you accumulate from your 18 best finishes. But please keep in mind, RCWRS points are awarded with competition in mind. The more cars on hand equals the more RCWRS points you earn. Big car count equals big points.
3-How much is the annual RCWRS driver membership? $25
4-Do I have to be a member to race at RCWRS sanctioned tracks? NO. But you will not receive any RCWRS points if you are not a member. You will not receive points until you register and pay your membership. You can register at any participating RCWRS track or you can contact Robert Brown on how to join.
5-Do I have to pay the $5 RCWRS event registration fee when I race at RCWRS sanctioned events? That is based on each participating track’s policy of whether the driver or the track will pay the event registration fee. RCWRS tracks are required to send in $5 for each competitor signed in for each event. 100% of that money goes directly to the RCWRS point’s fund. Points will be awarded in direct relation to the number of registration fees sent in.
Please note: The sanctioned tracks are solely responsible for sending in RCWRS event registration money and points finishes on a weekly basis. It is the track’s responsibility to do this. Points will not be posted until official finish and money for that RCWRS event has been received. Point’s money will be paid based on points money received.
6-How many drivers will receive RCWRS point’s money? The top 20 member drivers in RCWRS in points will receive cash awards.
7-What is the most a RCWRS event can pay? A RCWRS event can pay a maximum of $1,500 to win. This is done to insure the focus on the Weekly Racer versus the touring racer. A track is also not allowed to charge an entry fee (outside of the $5 registration fee) for any RCWRS event.
8-During what time of the racing season can I get RCWRS points? The RCWRS points are accumulated at participating sanctioned tracks during the months of March through September.
9-Does a track have to run Super Late Models weekly to participate? NO. For example, tracks such as Moulton and River Valley do not run Super Late Models weekly but will offer special sanctioned RCWRS $1,500 to win and RCWRS point’s paying events where member drivers can earn points toward the RCWRS Championship.
10-Do all the tracks run the same rules? NO. Track rules apply. But a track must run Super Late Models to be eligible to participate.
