Shebester Stands Victorious At Inaugural Visit To I-30 Speedway Tulsa,OK | April 17, 2016: An overcast day, would not stop 19 POWRi West drivers from signing in for competition at I-30 Speedway, for what would prove to be a great night of racing. Tucker Klaasmeyer, Austin Brown, and Ty Hulsey would all win heat races. The Integrity Customs High Point man of the night was Jason McDougal. Thanks to CIMCO Inc. the top 4 in passing points took to the track for 4 lap dash for cash. Jason was joined by Anton Hernandez, Andrew Deal and Steven Shebester. While it looked like Deal would get the win Shebester got by him in just the right moment as Shebester would win the dash. Shebester and Deal would bring the field to green. First attempt would see Matt Sherrell making contact with spun Jay Mounce in turn 2, ending the night for both drivers. A complete restart would see Austin Shores going end over end down the front stretch. While race officials took every precautionary measure to make sure Shores was okay it made for an extended break in the feature. As everything was checked out and the track was cleaned up the feature would get back underway with Shebester getting a big jump on the field. Jason McDougal and Tucker Klaasmeyer would make quick work to chase down the leader, but a big mover early on would be the 17E of Blake Edwards. Edwards would close in quick and battle for several laps. As Shebester began to catch lap traffic his lead dwindled down. A series of cautions would put lap cars between Shebester and McDougal. Back underway McDougal and Edwards had their hands full working through lap traffic but after several laps the duo had caught the leader. Rolling thru 3 & 4 Shebester closed in on another lap car, and in trying to make the pass made contact just as Edwards was making a move to pass McDougal, and just as fast as it could happen, Edwards and McDougal would both end up facing the wrong direction. The night would be over for Edwards, but McDougal would refire and tag the back of the field. Back under green Shebester would get a jump on on the restart and a new battle would begin. Klaasmeyer would do all he could to run down Shebester coming close several times, but in the end it would be Shebester winning the nights A-Feature.
