North Central Arkansas Speedway, 6-13-14
By Scott Ramos

After two weeks of rained out events, near perfect weather conditions greeted those in attendance at North Central Arkansas Speedway for this evening’s race program.

Chad Horton paced the Pure Stocks to the green flag to start the feature race portion of the program with Jessie Leamons immediately to his right. Horton led the field to off of turn two with Matthew Seaman taking over the second spot by the end of lap one. Only a single caution slowed the field, coming out on lap eighteen for Dylan Pinson rolling to a stop in front of the track exit. Horton pulled away from Seaman to claim the win, Seaman took second and Danny Bolen finished third.

Pure Stock Final Results: 1) 2X Chad Horton,  2) #T10 Matthew Seaman,  3) #R5 Danny Bolen,  4) #89 Dylan Pinson,  5) #83 Jessie Leamons,  DNS) #7L Larry West

The Hobby feature race rolled onto the track with Jackie Hensley holding the pole position and Kevin Collins outside the front row. Collins used the high line to take the lap one lead with Hensley and Richard Carson in hot pursuit. Hensley pressured Collins through lap eight, when it became a side-by-side battle for the lead between Hensley and Collins. Contact coming onto the back straight sent both cars through the infield and flattened a tire for each driver, leaving Carson to inherit the lead. After making quick tire changes Hensley and Collins returned to the track and began their pursuit of the new race leader. Following a couple of brief fights over position, Hensley was back to second on lap thirteen, with Collins taking over third the following trip around the track. Hensley moved around Carson to claim the lead on lap seventeen to take the wion, Carson crossed the line in second and Collins took home third.

Hobby Stock Final Results: 1) #411 Jackie Hensley,  2) #29 Richard Carson,  3) #2 Kevin Collins,  4) #8H Donnie Herring,  5) #32 James Raney,  6) #54 Daniel Sisco,  7) #45 Matt Bolen

The Super Stock feature event went green and outside pole-sitter Jessie Shearin quickly drove in front of Jon Hays who led the field at the start. The field would bunch for the first of four times under caution on lap two setting up a tight race for third between Curt Cotter and Jared Hayes. Jared took over the third spot on lap eleven, and grabbed second on the restart after a caution on lap twelve. After the third caution bunched the field on lap sixteen Jared made his move for the lead on the bottom of the track exiting turn four with a three wide fight for the lead between Jared, Shearin and Jon Hays. As the cars crossed the start/finish line for lap seventeen, Jon was too high on the track entering turn one and made contact with the wall through turns one and two ending his night. Jared held off Shearin to take the win, Shearin was second and Cotter finished third.

Super Stock Final Results: 1) #4P Jared Hays,  2) #38 Jessie Shearin,  3) #13 Curt Cotter,  4) #43 Mark Shockley,  5) #77 Hayden Chavers,  6) #2P Jon Hays,  7) #28 Joe Davenport,  8) #41 Kandy Methvin,  9) #48 Chris Piper,  DNS #21 Eric Hopper

The USRA B-Modified feature race got started with Bobby Ratterree and Jason Brigman on the front row. Brigman held the advantage exiting turn two but Ratterree held the lower groove to lead at the line for the opening circuit. Brigman got to the lead on lap two and kept his car in front of the field for the balance of the race. A few cautions for single car spins kept the field in close contact for much of the event allowing John Briggs to challenge Ratterree for position, but in the end Ratterree notched a solid second place finish in front of Briggs who finished third.

USRA B-Modified Final Results: 1) #24B Jason Brigman,  2) #20 Bobby Ratterree,  3) #5 John Briggs,  4) #71 Jason Snodgrass,  5) #22 Monty Hambleton,  6) #24F Cain Foster,  DNS) #18K Kyle Cotter

In the Hornet class, only a pair of drivers signed in for the nite, and Josh Williamson was awarded the win after Devin Elliot lost the right front tire on his ride on lap 7 of their feature race.
