Rustin Miller Lead USRA B-Mod Points Race

Rustin Miller, a 19 year veteran of racing, .has run consistently each week at Legit Speedway.  With a lifetime 73 feature wins, he is a consistent contender.. He’s driving a nullynsky chassis built in Wentzille by Mike Null, and a Chevy Crate engine dyno tuned by Woods Machine in Lincoln Nebraska. His favorite racing quote is from Talledega Nights, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”  Miller finished 2nd on Logger Appreciation night and earned enough points to maintain his lead in the division. Miller is a fierce competitor and has given the fans a show every week, as he drives hard around the track.
He’s followed by Carl Murphy of Caulfield and Dustin Shaw of Thomasville. They have consistently battled for the win each week.

Landon Clinton Maintains Lead in Super Stock

Landon Clinton had an engine failure June 6th and was unable to make the feature in Super Stock. He was doubtful for the big Logger Appreciation Night on June 13 but was able to put a Hobby engine in his frame and run that night. He finished 13th but it was enough to maintain his points lead going into this weekends race.

“We got our motor back from patriot race engine's. it is going back in the car Monday and the L18 rippin’ racecar machine will be ready to sling some dirt. We are hungry for another win, and looking for an exceptional weekend before the twin 40” said Clinton.

Clinton went with Patriot Racing Engines and it has proved to be a good move, with Clinton consistently finishing at the top of his class.
“Ya we talked with them and decided to move our motor program over to him. We got great power but were looking for more and I believe his motor program is a lot stronger” said Clinton of Wade Rayburn’s Patriot Race Engine.

Donnie Miller is 2 points off the lead. Miller, from West Plains, is the elementary school principal and brought about 300 elementary school students to the track last week for a behind the scenes look at racing.  You can see the slideshow of that event at www.facebook.com/LegitSpeedwayPark.

Kenny Barker Holds a 1 Point Lead in Late Models
LATE MODEL

Kenny Barker, #54 of Poplar Bluff says “consistency pays off”, as he holds a 1 point lead in the late model division. Even though his Crate 604 is underpowered by 300 horsepower to  some of the ‘built engines’, Kenny has managed to turn in  consistent enough finishes to be in first in the points.  Of course he would give up the points lead for more power and a better chance at taking the checkered flag.. With the tacky track conditions thus far this season, it has given the more powerful engines an advantage. Drier conditions during the coming months will smooth out the track and make it more a drivers competition than an engine competition. With that said, Barker is happy to be in first place going into this weekends points race.

Damon Mayfield in the 88M car is 1 point off the lead and looking to finish strong this week. Mayfield, from West Plains, is enjoying being able to race at home this season.
