Winterfest at Winchester Raceway Park will be February 18th paying $3,000 to win Super Late Models

WINCHESTER, TN (February 2, 2017)—Track Owner Bob Harris and Winchester Raceway Park located in Winchester, Tenn. will be gearing up for the first of several major events during the 2017 season starting with the running of the 13th Annual Winterfest on Friday and Saturday February 17-18 featuring total purses in excess of $30,000.

On Friday Night February 17th action will kick off with an open practice from 5:00 pm until 9:00 with the gates opening at 3:00 pm. All times central. On Friday, the pit admission will be $15.00 and the grandstands will be free.

The Super Late Models will take to the track on Saturday with a $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start main event. John Ownbey of Ooltewah, Tenn. is the defending Winterfest champion. The 2-Barrel Late Models will race for $1,000-to-win and $75-to-start. The Crate Late Models will compete for $1,000-to-win and $75-to-start. The Nesmith Street Stocks will race for $1,000-to-win and $100-to-start and have a $50 entry fee. The Kajun Mini Stock Association will compete for $1,000-to-win and have an $80 entry fee. The Mini Stock division will race for $350-to-win and $35-to-start with no entry fee. The Pure Stock will also be racing that day for $500-to-win. Revised payouts for the event have been released amongst a recent change in the promotional team for the race track.

CT Promotions will officiate the Super Late Model and Crate Late Model portion of the program. The tire rule for the Super Late Models for the Winterfest program will be open fronts and the rear tires being Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 compounds. Random tire samples will be taken throughout the program. Southern Nationals Series engine and weight rules will apply for the Super Late Models. Track rules and tire rules for the 2-Barrel Late Models, Crate Late Models and Mini Stock will apply. Nesmith street stocks will run under Nesmith rules and the Kajun Mini Stock Association will handle all KMSA rules.

On Saturday February 18th the gates open at 9:00 am and the driver’s meeting will be at 11:45 am and hot laps are scheduled to roll out at 12:00 pm. All times central. Adult grandstand admission will be $15.00 while children 6-12 are $5.00 and children five and under admitted free. Adult pit passes will be $35.00 per person while children 6-12 are $10.00 and children five and under admitted free.
