Prelude to the 19th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic this Saturday

Meridian, Mississippi (10/15/13) While the 19th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi is still over a week away on Thursday-Saturday, October 24th-26th, 2013, competitors will get a chance to get a jump on the competition this Saturday, October 19th with the Prelude to the Fall Classic at the facility.  This Saturday the winners in the Super Late Model, NeSmith Crate Late Model, Street Stock, Open Wheel Modified, and Pure Stock features will each be guaranteed a provisional starting spot in their respective events at the 19th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic

On the heels of another successful Coors Light Fall Classic in 2012, the event is back for more in 2013.   For the nineteenth straight year, many of the best competitors in the nation and the region will converge on the southeast Mississippi facility to contend for their respective championships.  The 1/3 mile, clay oval is known for its consistently racy surface, which is prepared and maintained by racing veteran, Rodney Wing.  This combined with the legendary event that was created by Charles and Jannie Thrash results in one of the most anticipated events of each racing season.

Drivers please note that to ensure fair competition that the winner's check will be held for approximately one week pending tire test results from an independent laboratory.

The 2013 edition of the event will be headlined by a $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start, 100 lap Super Late Model event, which boasts a total Super Late Model purse in excess of $55,000.  In 2012 Don O'Neal topped a field of 57 Super Late Model competitors, representing 11 states, to claim his second career event title, and will likely be back to defend his title in the 100 lap event against a talented field of competitors.

Super Late Model Feature Payout

Calls are already flooding in from drivers and fans for this year’s event, which could very well top last year's event to be the biggest in the history of the Coors Light Fall Classic.

M-D Metals Crate Late Models will also be co-headline the event as they wage war for $2,000 to win/$125 to start during the course of the event.  The Open Wheel Modified division is being sponsored by Etheridge Race Products., and will boast a $2,000 to win/$125 to start payout.  The Robinson Electric Street Stock division will be headlined by a $1,200 to win/$100 to start program.  On Saturday night the Pure Stock division will contest a complete show for $250-to-win.

The entry fee for M-D Metals Crate Late Models and the Open Wheel Modifieds presented by Etheridge Race Parts is $50.
