Whynot Motorsports Park Preparing for First Ever WoO Invasion

Meridian, Mississippi (05/07/13) – History will be made this Saturday, May 11th, when the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model Series makes its first-ever appearance at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for a $10,000-to-win event.

"Anticipation is probably higher than I've ever seen it for this Saturday's event," comments promoter, Rodney Wing. "My phone has been blowing up for weeks now from folks wanting information on the event. This no doubt has a chance to be our biggest race ever."

The purse, which is in excess of $60,000 marks the biggest one day payout in the track's history as the Super Late Model competitors will be waging war in a $10,000-to-win/$700-to-start finale.

The WoO competitors will bring a strong contingent of drivers into battle at the semi-banked, 1/3 mile oval including defending champion Darrell Lanigan from Union, Kentucky. He will be joined by a host of stout tour contenders including Josh Richards (West Virginia), Rick Eckert (Pennsylvania), Shane Clanton (Georgia), Tim McCreadie (New York), Chub Frank (Pennsylvania), Scott James (Indiana), Tim Fuller (New York), Bub McCool (Mississippi), and Clint Smith (Georgia).

The WoO tour also brings a strong rookie crop to the table led by Eric Wells (Kentucky), Morgan Bagley (Texas), and Dillon Wood (Florida).

While the touring drivers will bring a strong force into battle an equally tough field of independent national and regional drivers are setting their sights on an upset victory in the event. Three-time WoO champion, Billy Moyer from Batesville, Arkansas will lead the charge, which includes Wendell Wallace, Jack Sullivan, David Breazeale, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Chad Thrash, Ross Camponovo, Timothy Culp, Dane Dacus, Henry Cooper, Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, Leon Henderson, and many more. In addition to the $10,000 top prize these privateers will be chasing a $500 bonus, which is made available to any non-WoO driver, who has never won a WoO feature, and finishes highest in the feature event.

"We've really had some good shows so far this year with great track conditions, so I'm really pumped to see the racing action this Saturday night," concludes Wing.

Whynot Motorsports Park's gates are scheduled to open at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 11th, with hot laps set to get the green flag at 6:30 p.m.

General admission to Saturday's program, which also includes racing for the NeSmith Crate Late Models, Open-Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks, is $30 for adults, $15 for children ages 6-12 and free for kids 5-and-under. Pit passes will be $40.
