Rilat Aiming for Fourth Straight Tyson Perez Memorial Win This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions - FORNEY, Texas (Feb. 7, 2017) - Travis Rilat is making his annual trek overseas this week in support of long-time friend Tyson Perez, who passed away in 2010.

Rilat will compete in the Tyson Perez Memorial this Saturday at Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier, South Australia, Australia. It's an Australian Sprintcar All Star Series event he has won the last three years.

"Our goal is to make it four straight wins," he said. "Of course it's great to visit with Tyson's family and friends, but we want to win another one for Tyson."

Rilat, who will drive for Phil Seymour, advanced from fourth to claim the victory last year. He won after starting third in 2015 and picked up his first triumph in 2014 after lining up on the pole.

"Phil and the team give me a great car and it seems to get better each year so I feel confident every time I hit the track, but it certainly helps to start toward the front," he said. "We want to continue that momentum by moving forward and getting better every time we're on the track so that we're set up well going into the A Main."

Rilat said he will spend time with the Perez Family this week prior to the event.

"Tyson was a great friend of mine so it means a lot that I am able to stay in touch with his family," he said. "Winning his memorial race is always the cherry on top of an amazing trip and hopefully we can continue that streak."

White Set for Big Schedule of 60-Plus Sprint Car Races in 2017

Inside Line Promotions - LINDSAY, Okla. (Feb. 7, 2017) - Harli White recently finalized her winged sprint car schedule for the 2017 campaign.

White previously announced that she will tackle the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour for the first time in her career. While that will encompass the bulk of her events, White has more than a dozen additional races on the initial schedule of more than 60 shows across the country. The full tentative schedule can be viewed at http://www.HarliWhiteRacing.net .

"I'm really, really excited to be able to commit to the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this year and go on the road full time," she said. "We are going to focus on the sprint car this year and I think we are as prepared as a team heading into a season as we've ever been."

White will kick off the season Feb. 23-25 at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., at the Ronald Laney Memorial. She will then head to Mississippi the first weekend in March for a USCS Series doubleheader prior to the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season-opening event at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, March 17-18.

"Of course we want to win every race, but a big emphasis for the first handful of races is to make sure we get any bugs out of the system and build momentum before the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season begins," she said. "We have big goals for this season."

White will compete at many tracks in several states for the first time, including trips to Mississippi, Florida, Colorado, Washington, Montana and Tennessee. Therefore, she said her team's preparation will be pivotal to adapting quickly.

"I feel really good about where we are at right now and that we can tackle everything head on," she said. "I think me racing a 410ci sprint car in Australia during the offseason will also be a big help in us getting off to a strong start."

White recently returned from her first-ever trip to compete in Australia, where she raced at a variety of tracks throughout December and January. She added that her remaining apparel from the trip is being shipped to the United States and will arrive in March, when it will become available for sale to her U.S. fans.

Madsen Excited for Big Game Motorsports Debut This Weekend With All Stars

Inside Line Promotions - WINDOM, Minn. (Feb. 7, 2017) - Kerry Madsen will make his Big Game Motorsports debut this weekend when the Muddy sponsored team ventures to Florida for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions season-opening event.

Madsen said the team is tentatively slated to race Thursday through Saturday at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala during the Bubba Army Winter Nationals.

"For me it's about getting out there and getting to know each other and trying to get that line of communication," he said. "We have a lot to do in a short amount of time. The real part of the season is coming up pretty quick. Just try to get that ground base or a level of where we can get a good baseline for (crew chief) Guy Forbrook and I is the main thing."

Madsen has won his last four races at the unique track, including sweeping three All Star races in 2015 and winning the All Star finale in 2014.

"I've always come in straight off the Australian season so that helps," he said. "You've been racing for a bit so you're up to speed. Turns one and two are sweeping and turns three and four are like the top of an egg. I guess my success has been in being able to adapt to the unique challenges of the track."

Madsen is coming off three feature victories and his second straight Australian title as he spent most of the offseason racing in Australia. Prior to the trip overseas he was able to spend time with the Muddy backed team.

"I got to go to Guy's shop and the Big Game shop," he said. "The last time I was there they had everything handled so it was pretty comfortable going to Australia. I know it's a great team. It's a matter of making it work."

Madsen will also compete in Florida next week at the DIRTcar Nationals, held Feb. 15-19 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville. He has registered four top fives and 10 top 10s in his last 13 main events at the event since 2014.
