Ricky Weiss Takes Two Holiday Weekend Wins

Headingly, Manitoba, Canada (07/08/14) – Ricky Weiss capitalized on a busy holiday weekend in his #7 Derrick's Sandblasting/Bloomquist/ Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model to score two wins in three events.

Ricky Weiss drove to his third straight victory at Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Canada) on Thursday night. Ricky finished second to Mike Balcaen in heat race action, earning him the seventh starting spot in the finale. In the feature front row starter, Shane Edginton assumed the point at the drop of the green flag, but it would not take long for Ricky Weiss to chase down the leaders. Edginton maintained a solid out front until the final caution flag of the race waved to stack the field back up. On the restart Edginton was being chased down by Weiss and Balcaen. Balcaen dove under Edginton in turn one and the two would make contact, allowing Weiss to race high around them both and steal the lead. From that point Weiss motored away to the victory over Edginton, Balcaen, Bill Mooney, and Mike Martin. Full results from the event are available at www.VictoryLane.Mb.Ca .

Friday night took the team to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for a Weekly Racing Series program. Ricky won the first heat race from the pole position to lock into the sixth starting spot for the feature. In the main event mechanical issues brought his night to an early end, and a disappointing eleventh place finish. Complete results from the event are available at www.RiverCitiesSpeedway.com .

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night at Estevan Motor Speedway, which saw another dominating performance by Ricky Weiss. Ricky advanced from the third starting spot to claim a heat race win, earning him the pole position for the feature. In the main event Weiss raced to a convincing victory over Tyson Turnbull, Steven Pfeifer, Jim Harris, and Joren Boyce. With the win Weiss now holds seven victories thus far into the 2014 season. Full results from the event are available at www.EstevanMotorSpeedway.com .

"Friday night was a bit of a frustrating outing, but other than that it was another great weekend for our team," said Weiss. "It's all made possible by the support from my family, my team, my sponsors, and my fans, so I really have to give them a lot of the credit."
