Rain cuts short USMTS program at Chateau Raceway

LANSING, Minn. (May 24) – With heat races in the books, the skies opened up above Lansing, Minn., and forced United States Modified Touring Series officials to postpone the remainder of the 6th Annual Mike Guttormson Memorial presented by Tiny’s Body Shop and Powder Werks Friday night at the Chateau Raceway.

A make-up date will be determined after the Memorial Day Weekend.

Tommy Myer, Mike Sorensen, Kelly Shryock and Dereck Ramirez captured he four heat race victories. Shryock scored the most passing points and will redraw with Joey Jensen, Myer,  Sorensen, Ramirez, Brandon Davis, Zack VanderBeek and Jason Hughes when the USMTS Modifieds return to complete the program.

The fourth and final night of the Memorial Day Weekend swing happens Saturday, May 25, with the first visit this season to the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the 11th Annual A&A Electric and Underground Spring Challenge. Also on the racing card will be the Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods. Gates open at 3:00 with racing at 6:00.

On race day, fans can pick up a discount card good for $2 off adult admission at Casey’s General Stores locations in Preston and Stewartville, as well as Cresco and Riceville in Iowa. To find the Casey’s General Store nearest your route to the racetrack, visit www.caseys.com.
