USMTS opens RealTruck.com Northern Region with Gopher State threesome

OGILVIE, Minn. (May 8) -- After three months of tearing up dirt tracks in the southern half of America, the United States Modified Touring Series will be trucking into the Gopher State this week to kick off action in the RealTruck.com Northern Region presented by Day Motor Sports.

On Thursday, May 12, the invades the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minn., for Midweek Modified Madness, which will feature the USMTS Casey's Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental sharing the soil with an unsanctioned outlaw B-Mods special.

In addition to a $3,000 top prize for the USMTS stars and cars, a paycheck of $3,001 will be awarded to the B-Mod winner.

Stormy Scott is a three-time former winner at Ogilvie, including both stops in 2015. Other past winners include Jason Hughes, Jeremy Payne, Jason Krohn and Zack VanderBeek.

Gates opens at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7. Adult general admission tickets are $20 while seniors, students and military personnel get in for $18. Kids ages 12 and under are free and pit passes are $35. Special trackside parking and V.I.P. suites are also available.

On Friday, May 13, the series returns to the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn., for the second straight year with Midwest Mods and Street Stocks also on the card.

Rodney Sanders is the defending race winner.

The pit gate opens at 3 p.m., spectator gates open at 5:30 and racing begins at 7.

Tickets are $15 while kids 10 and under are admitted free with a paid general admission ticket. Tailgate vehicle entries are $30 and RV tailgate parking is $40.

On Saturday, May 14, the high-flying half-mile touted as the fastest dirt track in Minnesota--Viking Speedway in Alexandria-hosts the USMTS road warriors for a second straight season.

In the tour's inaugural visit in 2015, Viking Speedway regular Brady Gerdes found himself in Widow Wax Victory Lane in what was the biggest win of his young career.

Celebrating 51 years of operation in 2016, the track's grandstands hold close to 2,300 fans with several VIP suites too. For traveling fans, camping is available with water and a dumping station on site.

The pit gate opens at 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5 and the races start at 6:45. Midwest Mods, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks will also compete.
