USMTS invades Greenville, Crandall, Longdale April 9-11
DALLAS-FORT WORTH-The mud-slinging Modifieds of the USMTS Casey's Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental will take their 'mulligan' this week as they head to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the first of three events to kick off the Double H Bands Southern Region presented by Day Motor Sports.

This week's tripleheader kicks off on Thursday, April 9, at the Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas. From there, the tireless USMTS touring titans return to the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, on Friday before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday, April 11, at the Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Okla.

Thanks to a wintry, rainy start to the month of March in North Texas, the three-race swing was postponed one month ago to this week.

James and Becky Bryant's Superbowl Speedway held their first event last March with Johnny Scott taking the win while his twin brother, Stormy Scott, grabbed the victory when the series made a return visit in June.

The 1/4-mile semi-banked dirt oval plays host to some top notch USRA Modified pilots every Saturday night, so USMTS drivers will once again have their hands full with the tough local and regional talent in the Lone Star State.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with races starting at 7 p.m. Adult grandstand tickets are $15 while kids ages 7-11 and seniors 65 and older with ID are $10. Children 6 and under get in for free. Pit passes are $35. Limited Mods and Factory Stocks will also be in action.

The Superbowl Speedway is located 5.0 miles south of Greenville on SR 34, then west on FM 1903. For more information call 903-883-2504 or visit them online at www.superbowlspeedway.com.

After a one-year hiatus, the USMTS returns to the cozy confines of the RPM Speedway on Friday for another knock-down drag-out bullring battle at the 1/4-mile semi-banked dirt oval.

On March 15, 2013, Rodney Sanders picked up the win in his home state en route to capturing his first of two straight USMTS national championships.

This Friday, gates open at 4 p.m. and races start at 7 p.m. Limited Mods, Stock Cars, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks will also be racing.

Another USRA-sanctioned facility, the RPM Speedway is located southeast of US 175 in Crandall, Texas, on CR 4106 (Bud Stoy Rd. exit) to the intersection of CR 4104. For more information call 972-217-2766 or visit www.rpmspeedwaytexas.com.

With an eleventh-hour addition to the 2014 campaign, the Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Okla., added a USMTS date when another nearby track was forced to cancel on the eve of the week when the series was to invade.

Track owner Jessie Hoskins stepped in to fill the open date then, and he did it again this year.

When the Lonestar Speedway was unable to reschedule their rained-out event in March due to commitments with neighboring venues, Hoskins was ready to bring the fire-breathing USMTS machines back to his one-year-old, high-speed, high-banked half-mile clay oval that boasts 22-degree straight-aways and 26 degrees of banking in the turns.

Stormy Scott christened the new joint with his 24th career USMTS victory over a 42-car field on May 16, 2014, and the series will return this Saturday, April 11, to put a bow on a whirlwind weekend in the south.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Adult grandstand tickets are $15, seniors and military with ID are $10 and kids ages 6-12 get in for $5. Children 5 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit passes are $35.

Also on the card are non-sanctioned Sport Mods and Grand Nationals with both classes racing for $1,000 to win.

The Longdale Speedway is located about 0.5 mile south of Longdale on SR 58. For more information, check out www.longdalespeedway.com or call 580-886-5375.

All three events this week will pay $3,000 to win.
