Doug Harrington scores career first Rislone USCS Modified Series win at Checkered Flag Speedway

Hohenwald, TN - April 12, 2008 - Doug Harrington from Centerville,
Tennessee started on the outside front row and raced into the lead on lap
one then held on for the win in the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series at
Checkered Flag Speedway on Saturday night. Harrington pulled away on each
re-start after several caution flags bunched the field of challengers behind
him.

Harrington who races frequently with the Rislone Modified Series, but also
races on a regular basis at Checkered Flag Speedway seemed to have the right
setup for the tacky ¼ mile Middle Tennessee red clay oval. Eddie Rhinehart
from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee started in the K&N pole position, but got
involved in a mishap on lap two that ended his race. T.J. Herndon from
Atwood, Tennessee, who won the Rislone USCS season-opener on March 1, 2008
at the Speedway, was challenging Harrington on lap twelve when a lapped car
spun and collected both he and Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee. Newman
had started in the tenth position, but was running third at the time behind
Herndon. This incident ended Herndon's impressive run and sent the
hard-charging Newman to the pits for a tire. Newman had to re-start at the
rear of the field, but came charging back to the lead pack several laps
later..

Steven Holcomb from Centerville, Tennessee took over the runner-up spot on
lap thirteen and mounted a charge for the lead. But, Harrington was able to
hold off Holcomb's charge over the last half of the race and Holcomb had to
settle for a for the runner-up spot while Harrington made his way to victory
lane. The current series points leader, Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee
charged from his eleventh place starting spot into third place at the
finish. Equally impressive was defending Rislone USCS Modified Series
Champion, Shane Stephens from Arligton, Tennessee who started back in
twelfth place raced his way to a fourth place finish. The evening's Tennison
Brothers, Metals, Inc. Hard Charger Award went to Lucas Lee from Paris,
Tennessee who started fourteenth and advancing past nine cars in the main
event to finish in the fifth position.

Ashley Newman rallied back to grab the sixth position after his mid-race
dose of bad luck. Joseph Liester from Olive Branch, Mississippi grabbed
another top finish in seventh place. Hometown driver, T.J. Taylor from
Hohenwald, Tennessee followed in eighth place. Michael Lee from Paris,
Tennessee finished ninth and Steve Maughan from Clifton, Tennessee rounded
out the top ten.

To start the evening's competition, Ashley Newman captured the win in the
six cars, six-laps Rislone Oil Stabilizer Power Dash. Veteran Jackson,
Tennessee racer, Junior Lemmings collected the win in the Aero Race Wheels
First Heat Race. Jeff Weaver from nearby Columbia, Tennessee won the R.H.S
(racing Head Service) cylinder heads Heat Number Two. The Bars Leaks Third
Heat Race was won by the Atwood Outlaw, T.J. Herndon.
