For immediate release: Lucas Lee claims first K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified title in 2014 Atlanta, GA - December 14, 2014 – Top gun West Tennessee open wheel modified driver Lucas Lee from Paris, Tennessee claimed the 2014 K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series Championship. Lee used a win in the season finale and a total of seven top five and ten top ten finishes during the series weather shortened ten event 2014 season. Lee reached the top of the standings with 1488 points in the highly competitive series for Outlaw style open wheel modified race cars. The series 2014 Rookie of the Year, Preston Seratt from Dyersburg, Tennessee, who had an impressive two series wins plus five top five and nine top ten tallies, finished just 44 points behind Lee in the runner-up position with 1444 points. The “super rookie” also won the 2014 track championship at his home track, Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee. Three Arkansas drivers followed Lee and Seratt in the 2014 point standings. Jim Gulley who hails from Brookland, Arkansas finished in third place with 1206 points after 10 races. Justin Roberts from Paragould, Arkansas, who was the 2009 USCS Modified “Rookie of the Year”, finished the 2014 K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified division standings in the fourth place with 1103 points. Jon Gray from Jonesboro, Arkansas accumulated 934 championship points to round out the top five drivers in the season’s final point standings. The 2012 and two-time K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series champion, Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee led the next group of racers in sixth place. Reed was followed by Daniel Roe from Paragould, Arkansas in seventh. Two-time 2014 feature winner, Matt Cooper from McKenzie, Tennessee finished eighth in the standings. Paragould, Arkansas’ modified veteran front runner Robby Arnold accumulated enough points for a place in the top ten in ninth place. Two-time 2014 winner Ken Schrader rounded out the top ten positions after winnin g two of the first four events and leading the early point standings. Schrader won the season opener at Magnolia Motor Speedway on March 2nd. Matt Cooper, the 2009 USCS Modified weekly series Champion then won on the series first night of the 2nd annual Tennessee 200 at Tennessee National Raceway on Friday, March 14th. On the following night, March 15th, Ken Schrader picked up his second the win of the season during the final at Tennessee National Raceway. The series then moved on to Missouri where Scott Crigler from Alton, Missouri captured the win in the USCS Modified portion of the “Bootheel 200” at Poplar Bluff Speedway on March 22nd. Crate Late Model ace Tait Davenport from Benton, Kentucky won the next race at Jackson Motor Speedway on May 24th after starting last in the 22 car main event field. Matt Cooper, who was the series 2013 feature win leader with three visits to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane, won again on May 26th at Clayhill Motorsports to claim his second win of the 2014 season. Rookie driver Preston Seratt captured his first-ever USCS win at Poplar Bluff Speedway on June 28th. The 2009 K&N USCS Modified Touring Series Champion Hunter Rasdon who hails from nearby Jonesboro, Arkansas won the modified portion of the 3rd annual “Rumble at the Ridge” event at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Arkansas on July 3rd. Preston Seratt repeated his visit to the www.rockauto.com victory lane with his second win on the following weekend at Diamond Park Speedway on Friday, July 4th. The 2014 K&N Filters Outlaw Modified Series Champion, Lucas Lee picked up the $2000 for the 14th annual Cotton Bowl Cup event win at Poplar Bluff Speedway in the season finale on October 18th. One hundred and twenty-nine different drivers competed during the ten 2014 K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series events. The series averaged 26.4 cars per event in 2014. The 2015 and tenth anniversary K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series season is set to open during the 7th annual USCS “Frostbuster 200” at Magnolia Motor Speedway on February 27th and 28th, 2015.
