FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Lucas Lee wins K&N USCS Outlaw Modified USCS Fall Nationals Finale at Riverside on Saturday

West Memphis, AR – November 13, 2016 – 2014 K&N Filters Outlaw Modified Series Champion Lucas Lee from Paris, TN returned to the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway. The noted West Tennessee open wheel modified driver made his first trip to the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane this season.

The K&N Filters Pole Position starter Joe Walsh from Fenton, MO led the first trip around the ¼ mile Gumbo clay oval before Lee took over the lead. The past series Champion (Lee) then drove the final twenty-four laps to victory lane. The race was the final event of the season and of the night for the second day of the USCS Fall Nationals. The many laps on the track over two days in five divisions produced a slick surface for the cars and produced many caution periods. Lee held off all competitors through the seven caution periods and resulting re-starts.

Clayton Miller from Elton, KY, who was driving the #15 team car to Lee’s #12, followed his team-mate across the finish line in the runner-up spot after starting sixth. Miller was followed by Lakeland, TN driver Hunter Wilbanks in third place to pick up the K&N Podium Award. Wilbanks finished in fourth place on Friday night.

Hunter Wilbanks had the best two-night finish in the Modified portion of the USCS Fall Nationals event. Last year’s event Champion, Casey Findley from Benton, AR followed Wilbanks in fourth place. Drake Findley, who earlier won the USCS Modified B-Main and started fifteenth in the main event, rounded out the top five drivers.

Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat winner, Chris Moore from Hernando, MS led the next group in sixth place. The K&N Modified Power Dash winner, Brandon Poppenheimer was the seventh-place finisher. The previous night’s runner-up and a past series Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, TN finished eighth after starting eleventh. Ninth place went to 2009 K&N USCS Modified Driver of the Year, Joseph Leister from Millington, TN. The driver who earned the most passing points in heat race action and earned the K&N Filters Pole Award, Joe Walsh from Fenton, MO completed the top ten drivers.

Brandon Poppenheimer kicked off the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified portion of the event by winning the K&N Filter USCS Modified Power Dash. Kentucky’s Clayton Miller then won the Wilwood Disc Brakes First Heat. Chris Moore took Murray Vaughn’s #45x to a win in the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat. Eventual feature winner Lucas Lee won the www.rockauto.com Third Heat. Joe Walsh won the Hero Graphics Fourth Heat.

The B-Main victory went to young gun Drake Findley from Benton, AR. Drake Findley additionally earned the evening’s Comp Cams Hard Charger Award by passing ten cars in the main event.

The 2017 K&N Filters Outlaw Modified Series event schedule will be announced during mid December 2016. For rules and additional series info lease visit www.uscsracing.com or call USCS at 770-865-6097.
