USCS OUTLAW SPRINT CAR RACING HEADLINES SPRINT CAR MANIA VI RACING ACTION AT BOYD’S SPEEDWAY on FRIDAY NIGHT (July 17th)

Atlanta, GA – July 14, 2015 - Wild and exciting winged outlaw sprint car racing will headline the 6th Annual “Sprint Car Mania” racing program at Boyd’s Speedway on Friday night, July 17th. The United Sprint Car Series "Outlaw Thunder" Tour presented by K&N Filters (www.uscsracing.com) will roar into the fast 3/8-mile Georgia red-clay oval for their fifteenth event on the 19th Anniversary USCS National Championship schedule.

This is the one and only USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint car event scheduled during the 2015 season at Boyd’s Speedway. This race is a twin region showdown for the series and will award National Championship points as well as points in the USCS Mid South and Southern Thunder regional series standings.  The USCS Mid South region normally contests race in Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Western Tennessee. The USCS Southern Thunder regional series consists of races in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, both Carolinas and Eastern Tennessee.

The special two region challenge event is expected to bring top winged Outlaw sprint car drivers from at least seven states to the track seeking a stop in the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane at the historic track. The exotic fire breathing, alcohol burning, 700 horsepower open wheel cars weight just 1,300 pounds, and are pound for pound the World’s most powerful short track race cars.  The cars will literally fly around the track surface at speeds over 120 M.P.H.  It is not uncommon to see USCS sprint cars popping "wheelies" or doing wheel stands because of the brute force of their engines and their huge 16-inch wide Hoosier rear racing tires.

Friday night's Outlaw sprint car action will feature a full program of racing in the Outlaw sprint cars that includes test and tune hot laps followed by the evening's first sprint car race, the Hoosier Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car shootout.  Next up will be qualifying heat races and a Last Chance/B-Main race. The evening’s grand finale will be the 30-lap “Sprint Car Mania” VI USCS A-main event.

The popular www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged Mini Sprints will join the USCS winged outlaw sprint cars on the action-packed racing program, creating an exciting open-wheeled winged race car double-header special event for the race fans. Several of the Boyd’s Speedway weekly racing divisions will join the two traveling series for a full night of family entertainment. Those divisions include Late Model and stock car racing divisions. There will be a full program of racing action in every division.

Twenty-two year old female sprint car hot-shoe and 2010 USCS National Rookie of the Year, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee currently leads both rhe USCS National and Mid South regional series point standings. Morgan Turpen, who was the 2014 Hoosier Tire USCS Asphalt Series Champion. She has a career total of six USCS feature wins is looking for her first win of the 2015 season coming into the weekend.

Eleven-time and defending USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee also tops the entry list for the Boyd’s Speedway event.  He is among the top twenty-five drivers in the Nation in feature wins over the past 5 years with over 90 feature wins. Gray has 89 career USCS feature wins.

Additionally expected to be at the top of the entry list is 2013 USCS National Champion Deek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas who is the most successful drivers in the USCS over the last three seasons, The twenty-four year-old Hagar has 33 USCS career wins. Twenty-two of Hagar’s wins have come over the last three seasons.

The 2012 USCS National Champion and 2012 USCS “Sprint Car Mania” Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas has won three times in 2015 USCS competition. He is also expected to enter Friday’s event. Crawley is also among the top twenty-five drivers in victory lane visits over the past 5 years. Crawley has 75 USCS main event wins.

In addition to Turpen, young drivers include the 2008 USCS Rookie of the Year, Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee who finished in fourth place in the USCS 2013 standings. Also entered is 20 year-old 2010 USCS Southern Thunder regional series Rookie of the Year Eric Riggins, Jr. from Charlotte, North Carolina who is currently the USCS Southern Thunder regional point standings leader.. Riggins has 11 USCS feature wins as well.

Other expected entries include past USCS regional series Champion, Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina, Joe Larkin from Suwannee, Georgia and Jay Dunham from Augusta, Georgia, 2012 USCS Rookie of the Year, Jeff Willingham from Ripley, Mississippi and 2014 USCS Rookie of the Year, Brandon McLain from Indian Trail, North Carolina among others.

The current USCS Rookie of the Year point’s leader is Nick Snyder from Marco Island, Florida. The 16 year-old Sntder is currently third in the National point standings and already has a USCS feature win on May 8th at Travelers Rest Speedway in South Carolina to his credit.

Another sprint car racer for local fans to cheer for is USCS veteran Aubrey Black from nearby, Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Black is expected to do double duty in the Outlaw sprint car and mini sprint divisions. His son Aubrey Black II is also entered in the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series division for winged mini sprints.

USCS Outlaw Sprint Cars and Late Models Headline Dixie Speedway Racing Saturday (7/18)

Woodstock, GA – July 14, 2015 - The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars along with the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints invade historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia for the Dixie Sprint Car Nationals 2015 on this -Saturday, July, 18th at 7:00 pm. 

The event is expected to draw sprint car drivers from seven to nine states and awards National, Mid South regional series  and Southern regional series points.  Five past National and regional series Champions from the USCS are entered as well as the region’s top drivers. 
The 2013 USCS National Champion Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas is entered for Saturday’s event. Hagar has won the last two USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour main events at Dixie Speedway in 2013 ans 2014.  Shawn Nelson from Ooltewah, Tennessee won the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series mini sprint portion of the 2014 event. 

Twenty-two year female sprint car hot-shoe Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee currently leads both the USCS National sprint car standings and the USCS mid South Thunder Tour regional series standings as well.  Turpen is the team-mate of her car owner who is eleven-time USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee. Gray has won several past USCS events at Dixie Speedway and trails her in the USCS National point standings in 2nd.

Another past USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour Dixie Speedway feature winner,, twenty year old, Eric Riggins, Jr, from Charlotte, North Carolina leads the USCS Southern regional series team of drivers into this regional series “Showdown”. Riggins is a three-time 3025 USCS feature winner. 

In addition to the two USCS sprint car divisions, Dixie Speedway will feature its regular late model and stock car racing program including 800HP Super Late Models, Steelhead/525 Late Models, Crate Late Models, Super and Econo Bombers, Street Cruisers, and Pony Stock divisions.

Admission is $20 for adults in the grandstand ($3 discount with any Coca Cola product bottle cap) with children 8 years old and under free, and 9-17 years old just $6. Trackside admission is $25 per adult and $11 per child (11 years and under). Pit passes are $30 per adult and $11 per child (11 years and under).
