USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters sprint cars compete three times in USCS first Southern Sprint Speedweek starting on Thursday, July 16th

July 12, 2015 - Atlanta, GA – The United Sprint Car Series "Outlaw Thunder" Tour presented by K&N Filters www.uscsracing.com winged sprint cars are set to compete at three East Tennessee and North Geogia dirt ovals this coming weekend from Thursday until Saturday. The events are part of the series’  first-ever USCS Southern Sprint Speedweek. The USCS drivers who just competed last weekend for a chance to be the first to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane at two Arkansas ovals move their focus to the East this weekend. On Thursday, July 16th the series makes its first stop of the weekend for ”Thursday Thunder in the Smokies” Round #1 event. On Friday, July 17th the series moves two hours South to Boyds Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia for the Sprint Car Mania VI at the historic track. The first weekend’s action concludes at famed Dixie Speedway on the Atlanta suburb of Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday night (July 18th). Over $60,000 in prize money plus contingencies is posted.

This is the one and only visit scheduled during the 2015 season for the USCS presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars to each of these speedways. Each race will award USCS National points as well as points in the USCS Mid South Thunder and USCS Southern Thunder regional series title chases. The USCS Mid South Thunder regional series consists of races scheduled in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. The Southern Thunder regional series races in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Carolinas.

This three-night, three-track special event is expected to bring top winged outlaw type sprint car drivers from at least eight states to the tracks. The exotic fire breathing, alcohol burning, 700 horsepower open wheel cars weight just 1,300 pounds, Winged sprint cars are pound for pound the World’s most powerful short track race cars.

Each night's USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour sprint car action will feature a full program of racing that kicks off with test and tune hot laps. Hot laps will be followed by the Hoosier Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car shootout.  The qualifying heat races are next on the racing card. The evening’s grand finale will be the USCS presented by K&N Filters A-main event.
In addition to the winged sprint cars, Racing in the track’s Late Model and Stock Car divisions will join the action-packed sprint car racing programs at each track.
