Crawley charges to USCS “Duel at the Diamond” win at Diamond Park

Nashville, AR – July 5, 2013 – Defending United Sprint Car Series National Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas who started sixth, charged into the runner-up spot on lap three, then chased past USCS Champion, Marshall Skinner from Marion, Arkansas for nineteen laps before racing into the lead en-route to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane for the fifth time this season at Diamond Park Speedway on Friday night. Skinner raced across the finish line still in second place ahead of ten-time series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee who finished in the K&N Filters Podium Award third place. Zack Pringle from Benton, Arkansas in fourth place and the only female driver in the field, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee completed the top five finishers.

Seven-time 2013 USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour feature winner, Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas led the next group in sixth place. Veteran sprint car racer, Greg Merritt from Nesbit, Mississippi finished in seventh place and 2008 USCS Rookie of the Year, Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee finished eighth. Joe Young from Benton, Arkansas followed in ninth place and USCS Rookie of the Year contender Tristan Tidmore from Hernando, Mississippi rounded out the top ten drivers.

Terry Gray kicked off the evening’s winged sprint car action by winning the six-lap Hoosier Speed Dash. Gray then won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. He then watched as his team-mate Morgan Turpen charged to the win in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat. Joe Young improved the most positions in the A-main to garner the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger award.
