Atlanta, GA - April 14, 2014 - The United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters is set to bring its 130+ mile per hour ground pounding winged sprint cars to two paved Carolina oval tracks on Friday, April 25th and Saturday, April 26th . The events are Round #1 and Round #2 of the six-race USCS “Road to Atlanta” Series to qualify cars to compete in the Labor Day weekend USCS “Sprint Car Shootout” at Atlanta Motor Speedway during their NASCAR Sprint Cup race weekend. On Friday, April 25th the USCS invades Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, South Carolina to do battle around the historic 3/8 mile paved oval. On the following night the series moves East to the 4/10 mile high banked oval at Southern National Motorsports Park near Kenly, North Carolina on Saturday, April 26th. Both tracks are currently NASCAR sanctioned for their weekly racing events. Over twenty-seven thousand dollars ($27,000) in prize money is posted for the two USCS events.

Fans can expect to see an exotic mixture of winged Outlaw style sprint cars designed and utilized for dirt track racing in a battle with cars designed primarily for paved track racing. The USCS rules for pavement events make both types of cars capable of being equally competitive. Driver pre-entries are expected from some of the Nation’s top drivers from at least seven states as far away as Arkansas, Florida and Ohio

The United Sprint Car Series is the only winged sprint car series in the World that contests it’s Championship on both dirt and paved ovals. At 1,300 pounds and over 700 horsepower, winged sprint cars are pound for pound the World’s fastest and most powerful short-track cars. United Sprint Car Series founder and President, Pete Walton said,”We are totally excited about this change of pace after our first five successful events on dirt ovals. We welcome the opportunity for our drivers and race teams to showcase their talents in front of all the great fans at both Anderson Motor Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park. Those race fans who have missed the previous United Sprint Car Series events at these tracks and the ones that have never seen this type of racing are in store for an exciting evening at either track next weekend” concluded Walton.
