Chatsworth, GA (8/3/2013) --- Mike Marlar (# 5B) of Winfield, Tennessee stalked race leader/fellow Tennesseeian Randy Weaver (# 116) for the last nine laps of the 40-lap Ultimate series Super Late Model feature Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway in Dalton/Chatsworth. With a bit of help from lapped traffic on the ultra-fast 1/3 mile clay banked dirt track Marlar made the winning pass for the $4,000 payday with four laps remaining Saturday night in front of an excited crowd of racefans. Jumping to their feet with anticipation of Weaver’s possible rebuttal, of the lead change, it would prove to be too little and too late as the checkers flew. A pair of (# 21’s) took to a race long battle for third with North Carolina’s Chris Ferguson finishing just ahead of Florida’s Ivadent Lloyd Jr. Round out the Top-5 in the big show of the night was reigning series champ Casey Roberts of Georgia, whom took the checkers the previous night at one of his neighboring West Georgia tracks.

In local racing action Johnny Cloer Jr. put his # 41 “ParkerStore, Outlaw Racing Graphics” racecar in Victory Lane for the LLM Steelhead feature. Jason Welshan put his Hick & Laws Insurors, Smith’s Auto Sales machine in Victory Lane for the Crate LM feature. Mark Bishop won the Sportsman, Grag Brown collected the Modified Hobby race, while Tony Walston won the Econo Hobby feature. Grady Stokes won the Pony feature with Billy Callahan taking the final checkers of the night in the Mod Lites.
