ULTIMATE Super Late Models Head to Cleveland County Speedway Friday Lawndale, North Carolina – After a very successful season opener Saturday that saw former World 100 winner Dale McDowell take the win, the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series is set to roll into the Cleveland County Speedway on Friday, April 6th for a $4000 to win / 40 lap feature. The April 6th date is a make-up of a rained out event 2 weeks ago. “We looked around to find the earliest date that would make the most sense for everyone. There is a lot of racing for a lot of money going on Saturday, April 7th so we wanted to try to and capitalize on that and offer some of those teams headed to those events an option to stop in along the way and pick up some additional money. The date also didn’t conflict with any area Super Late Model events so it seemed like a no-brainer.” said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton. McDowell sits atop the ULTIMATE Point Standings headed in to Friday but he is closely followed by a pair of racers in Chris Madden and Casey Roberts who have each logged many laps at Cleveland County Speedway and share multiple victories at the 4/10ths of a mile facility. Along with Madden and Roberts fans can expect to see ULTIMATE Series Champion Chris Ferguson and series regulars like Zack Mitchell, Casey Barrow, Daniel Baggerly and Brian Reese duking it out with the likes of Ricky Weeks, Johnny Pursley, Dennis Franklin, Brent Dixon and many of the region's Super Late Model standouts. Also on the card with the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will be a Cleveland County FASTRAK Pro Late Model Weekly event which will pay $1000 to the winner. Several drivers could pull double duty and many of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division regulars could be on hand in preparation for the division’s season opener at Cleveland County the following Friday night. Along with the ULTIMATE and FASTRAK Weekly events Cleveland County will also host extra purse events which will serve as the beginning of the point championship season for their Limited Sportsman, Super Stock 4 and Front Wheel Drive classes. Ticket prices are Grandstands: $23 ($3 off coupons dated March 23 and 24 will be honored and are still available at area locations) and Pit Passes: $30. The pit gate opens at 3 PM and grandstands at 5 PM.
