THOMAS COMES RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX WINNING WITH A CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE CT 525 ENGINE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Williams Thomas of Phenix City, AL had a profitable test session over the weekend with his new $7,000 all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine by winning two super late model races and earning $9,300 which paid for his engine in two nights of racing.

Thomas pocketed $4,000 on Saturday night by qualifying second-quick and winning the Mike Head Jr. Memorial Race at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and then followed that up by qualifying third-quick and winning the Southern Nationals event on Sunday night at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA that was worth $5,300.

The successful weekend for Thomas was a tune-up for the opening of the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series this Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and this Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL.  These are the first two $3,000-to-win $300-to-start events of a ten-race series that will pay a $30,000 point fund with $10,000 going to the Champion and paying back ten spots in the point standings.

The entire week for Thomas showed the positives of the Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine, from its quick availability, its ease in getting it in a race car, its adaptability to different race tracks, to it paying for itself quickly.

The race  car Thomas used to win the Talladega Short Track and Rome Speedway events had a Chevrolet Performance 604 Crate in it last Monday when Thomas purchased the Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine from NeSmith Chevrolet, Buick, GMC in Claxton, GA, who delivered the engine to Thomas’ shop the next morning.

Thomas cranked the CT 525 for the first time on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. and headed for Talladega Short Track by 3 p.m.  TST is a ΒΌ-mile clay oval that has proven to be a good track for the CT 525, as Ross Martin of Talladega, AL won the Ice Bowl super late model race there in January with a Chevrolet Performance CT 525.

Rome Speedway is a different animal altogether compered to Talladega Short Track.  Rome Speedway is a big high-banked half-mile clay oval that will take as much horsepower as you care to bring.  With that in mind, Thomas loaded another car into his hauler with an open motor under the hood with plans to compete in that car at Rome Speedway.

“When we unloaded the car at Talladega Short Track, the first thing I noticed when I got up to race speed was how much more drivable the car was with the Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine,” Thomas said.  “I didn’t have to chase the car at all and it really fit my driving style with its drivability.”

After winning the Talladega Short Track event, they loaded up the car and headed to Rome Speedway.  While on the way to the race track, Thomas couldn’t get out of his mind how good his race car felt powered by the Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine.

“When we got to Rome Speedway, I had talked myself into trying the CT 525 just to see how it felt on the big track,” Thomas said.  “When we hot lapped, I couldn’t believe the torque and forward drive the engine had coming off the corners.  Whatever this engine lacks in horsepower to an open motor, it makes up for it in torque, and that’s a big plus in short track racing.”

Thomas was amazed with the week’s activities and the success he had, but he still had one regret about it.

“Never in my super late model racing career have I been able to buy an engine, have it delivered to my shop the next day, be ready to race with it, and then win enough money to pay for it all in a one week time period,” Thomas said.  “The only regret I have is that I should have done this two years ago.  This engine has unbelievable power and can compete with any open motor out there.”

The Chevrolet Performance CT525 Engine is in stock and available at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA for $7,195.00 with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast.  They also have an interchangeable Turn Key Kit that includes everything except the carburetor, fuel pump, power steering pump, or headers that is also available for $2,259.00.  To place an order, call Tim Bland at 1-877-497-3624.

The past week was so successful and so profitable for Thomas, they are going to do it again this week.  Thomas’ father, Hall of Famer Billy Thomas, is coming out of retirement, and a dirt late model powered by a Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine is being prepared for him to compete this weekend and for the rest of the season with the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series.

The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series is America’s first “Factory Backed and Factory Built” super late model series.  The $7,000 Chevrolet Performance all-aluminum CT 525 Engine that will power the cars in the series is based on the production LS Engine that is available at Chevrolet dealers around the world in the Chevrolet Corvette, the Chevrolet Camaro, and the Chevrolet SS.
