William Thomas Wins Again in Chevrolet Performance Competition

Phenix City, Alabama (09/17/13) - On Saturday evening the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series invaded Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tennessee), and William Thomas continued his dominant performances in his #A19 Alexander's Industrial Services/JW Miller Land & Timber/GRT Super Late Model with the new tour by winning for the fourth time in five races!

The $3,000-to-win race attracted a field of 21 entries to the 1/4 mile, bullring for the James Corlew Chevrolet 50.  Qualifying found Thomas recording the 2nd fastest time to lock into the 2nd starting spot alongside pole sitter, Chase Edge.   As the caution-plagued race went green William took the lead and would go on to again lead every lap to score his 8th win of 2013!  Ronnie Johnson, Tim Busha, Tait Davenport, and Ted Lackey rounded out the top five finishers.

“We didn’t think the track would get as slick as it did, but it was still a good surface to race on and we just had to adjust our driving style for it,” Thomas said.   “I knew Ronnie Johnson was back there, so I knew I had to run hard, but at the same time, not overdrive the race track.  We still have a lot of racing left in this season, and if I do win this championship, I know Ronnie is going to make me earn it.”

William Thomas extended his lead in the series' standings with a 42 point advantage over Ronnie Johnson. Full results from both races as well as the latest standings are available at www.525SuperSeries.com .

This weekend, September 21st-22nd, the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will host a pair of $3,000-to-win events in East Tennessee.  Action opens on Saturday night at 411 Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) before moving to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) for an event that was postponed by rain in August.  For more information on the events please visit www.525SuperSeries.com .
