Billy Moyer Jr. Scores Top Ten at the Mag; LOLMDS Triple Header Next

Batesville, Arkansas (06/19/13) –Billy Moyer Jr. powered his #21jr Sparks Motorsports/Henderson Motorsports/NXS Power Line/Victory Circle by Moyer/Pro Power Racing Engine to a top ten finish over the weekend in the annual Clash at the Mag at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

It was back to business for Billy Moyer Jr. and Jr. Motorsports with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend as he traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the annual Clash at the Mag.

Forty-six Super Late Models converged on the state-of-the-art oval, and a third place finish in his heat race on Friday evening transferred Billy to the ninth starting spot for Saturday evening's 100 lap finale. A massive crowd and the Lucas Oil Production Studio cameras were on hand to catch all of the action in the $20,000-to-win feature on Saturday night, and Moyer Jr. raced to as high as the sixth position before settling into an eighth place finish.

"Overall it was a great run for our team as things continue to come together for us," noted Moyer Jr. "Hopefully we can carry this momentum into the second half of the season.

Rick Eckert Bags $3,000 Win at Winchester; Jumps Back on WOOLMS Tour Tonight!

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA)  York, Pennsylvania star Rick Eckert and Paul Crowl's #7 team bagged another victory together on Saturday night, June 15 at the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia!  Rick started off his evening by posting the third quickest lap during qualifying and running second in heat race action.  After starting the 35-lap 'Paul Johnson Memorial' from the inside of the second row, Rick grabbed the point on lap twenty-one and never looked back.  "Scrub" picked up the $3,000 top prize in beating JT Spence, CS Fitzgerald, Stevie Long, and Gary Stuhler to the checkers.  Complete results from the unsanctioned race at Winchester can be accessed by clicking on www.winchestervaspeedway.com.

"Paul Crowl's racecar is extremely fast right now and I can't thank him enough for giving me the opportunity to drive it occasionally," quoted Eckert this week via telephone.  "Winchester Speedway was in great shape the other night and that was a fun race.  My own equipment has been racing really well also, but we just have to get qualified better.  There are too many good drivers and strong teams on that Outlaws deal to start mid-pack and win the race.  Hopefully, our qualifying package will be a little better starting at Fonda!"

After more than a couple of weeks off of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series grind, Rick will return to action with the national touring series tonight, June 19, at the Fonda Speedway in Fonda, New York.  Back behind the wheel of his familiar #24 ride, Rick will aim for the $10,000 winner's share tonight in round nineteen of WOOLMS competition.  The race tonight at Fonda kicks off another busy stretch for the Rick Eckert Racing team, as they will tackle five different dirt venues in the states of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as a trip to Canada, from June 19-29.

Jeff Taylor Races to Fourth Win of 2013 Campaign in North Dakota

Cave City, Arkansas (06/19/13) - Jeff Taylor made the long tow to North Dakota over the weekend for a pair of events in his brand new #5 Jeff Taylor Racing/Industrial Electric/Provence Construction/New Vision Graphics/Taylor Chassis/Mullins Race Engines Open Wheel Modified and came away with his fourth win of the 2013 season.

The action opened on Saturday evening at Southwest Speedway (Dickinson, North Dakota), where Jeff, who was carrying new sponsorship from Spur Bar in Dickinson, North Dakota, rocketed from the twelfth starting spot to battle for the lead for the second half of the IMCA sanctioned event with Robert Hellebust before settling for a second place finish.  Full results are available at www.SouthwestSpeedway.com.

Sunday evening found the team competing at Nodak Speedway (Minot, North Dakota) in another IMCA Open Wheel Modified program.  Nineteen entries took part in the program, and Jeff started his night by finishing seventh in his heat race, which resulted in him starting fourteenth on the grid for the feature.  He quickly worked his way forward in the field as the race went green and went on to score the victory by a dominating margin over Mike Hagen, Ed Turnbull, Robert Hellebust, and Allen Kent.  Full results from the program are available at www.RaceNodak.com.

Upton Motorsports Leads COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Weekend Charge

Mercer, Tennessee (06/19/13) – Upton Motorsports drivers, Kyle Beard & Ashley Newman, currently lead the respective points in the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) as well as the tour's Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings and will lead the tour into battle this weekend in Tennessee and Arkansas.

With five events in the books Beard currently holds a ten point advantage in the overall CCSDS standings, and Newman has a dominant lead in the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings. The drivers will lead their fellow competitors into battle this weekend with a pair of $2,000-to-win event events. Action begins on Friday night at Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee) before moving to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) on Saturday evening. Last weekend was a successful time for both team drivers. On Friday night Ashley took part in a Weekly Racing Series Event in his #73 Upton Motorsports/Pierce Crate Late Model at the recently reopened Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, Tennessee. He raced his way to a third place finish in the feature.

Ashley traveled to Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee) on Saturday evening for another Weekly Racing Series Event in his Crate Late Model entry and came away with his second victory of the season! Newman started his night by racing from the sixth starting spot to a fourth place finish in his heat race, which positioned him starting fourth in the feature. In the main event he worked his way forward to claim the victory over Tait Davenport, Stephen Austin, Bronson Berry, and Adam Ray. Kyle Beard and Upton Motorsports entered the opening round of a doubleheader with the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) tour on Friday night at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas). Twenty-three entries took to the 1/4 mile oval, and after advancing from the fourth to second spot in his heat Kyle started fourth in the feature, and with passing being difficult would go on to finish in fourth behind race winner, Rob Litton, Scott Hebert, and Kevin Sitton.

Saturday evening found the winner's check increased to $2,500-to-win for the 50 lap affair as twenty-seven Super Late Models filled the pit area. Preliminary action found Beard starting fourteenth on the grid for the feature, and he would race around mid-pack for much of the event before ultimately retiring to a seventeenth place finish.
