$5,000/win BATON ROUGE MARCH MADNESS NOW MARCH 27-28!

Baton Rouge, LA (3/18/15) by DarinShort.com. One of the largest season kickoff events in the history of Baton Rouge Raceway (BRR) is being forced by weather to shift the event to March 27th-28th, with the running of the Blue's Auto Parts March Madness, presented by Federated Auto Parts and Ollie's Car Wash. A possible $5,000 to win is up for grabs for drivers of the P&W Sales SUPR Dirt Late Model Series division.

With this date change, there is one unfortunate edit to this event, as Ken Schrader will not be able to race at BRR. He is previously committed to race in Virginia.

However, ALL other previously announced event components are still exactly as they were. Here's a refresher:

Race fans will enjoy two jam packed nights of racing; featuring Late Models and the Louisiana Bayou Series (LBS) Winged Sprint Cars. Plus, Limited Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Stingers will round out the five-division racing card.

Special thanks to event sponsor Blue's Auto Parts, which operates several Federated Auto Parts stores located throughout southern and south eastern Louisiana. The next time you have auto parts needs, please stop by to thank them for their support of racing at BRR.

The weekend of action will fire up on Thursday March 26th with an open practice night for all race teams from 8pm-11pm. There is no charge to race fans for grandstand admittance, while all pit passes are $30.

Friday night, March 27th will be the first night of racing action for the weekend, with five divisions of cars racing: P&W Sales SUPR Dirt Late Model Series division, LBS Winged Sprint Cars, Limited Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Stingers.

The pits open Friday at 4pm with the main grandstands opening at 6pm. Racing takes to the track at 8pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $15, with ages 7-12 are $5, while ages 6 and under are free with Adult admission. All pit passes for all ages are $30.

The Winged Sprint Cars, Limited Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Stingers will all run qualifying races to determine the top 12 cars that will be locked into their respective championship features, which will be contested on Saturday night. All remaining cars (and cars that show up to race Saturday only) will compete in non-qualifier features to fill their 20-car starting fields on March 28th.

The highlight of the Friday night racing program will certainly be the 18-car, $2,000 'Winner Take All' format Ollie's Car Wash SUPR Shootout.

This unique and exciting event format will truly reward the top performing driver, as they will collect $2,000. Here's how the event will work:

-The top 10 drivers in 2014 SUPR points are already locked in for a drawing position to the Ollie's Car Wash SUPR Shootout finale. Those drivers are: Jonathan Mitchell, Patrik Daniel, Robert Litton, Tyler Erb, Richard Duke Jr, Jeff Chandler, Chad Comer, Robbie Stuart, Troy (Allen) Tippen and Shane Hebert.

-Any Late Model driver that wishes to qualify for the event that was not in the top 10 for 2014 SUPR points will compete in a 20-lap qualifier feature. A minimum of 8 drivers will advance to receive a drawing (and starting) position for the Ollie's Car Wash SUPR Shootout finale. (In other words, if 8 of the top 10 in SUPR points from 2014 are present, then 10 cars from the qualifier will advance to the finale; etc.)

-Once the 18 Ollie's Car Wash SUPR Shootout finale drivers are known, then each driver will draw for a starting position.

-The 18 drivers will line up and run Segment 1, which will be 10 laps.

-After Segment 1 has concluded, the 18 drivers will line back up for Segment 2, which will be lined up in reverse starting order of Segment 1. Segment 2 will also be 10 laps.

-At the conclusion of Segment 2, points will be compiled from both segments, and the driver who has the best overall finishing position will be crowned the Ollie's Car Wash SUPR Shootout Champion, and will collect a cool $2,000. All other finale starters will receive $100.

We would like to thank Ollie's Car Wash for their great support of this event. Located at 29150 Walker South Road, Walker, LA 70785, they feature the latest in car washing equipment to help bring that sparkle back to your car's surface. If you happen to be in the area, stop in to Ollie's, get your car washed and thank them for their support of racing at BRR!

Saturday, March 28th will be the finale of the Blue's Auto Parts March Madness, presented by Federated Auto Parts and Ollie's Car Wash at BRR.

The pits open Saturday at 4pm with the main grandstands opening at 6pm. Racing takes to the track at 7pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $20, with ages 7-12 are $5, while ages 6 and under are free with Adult admission. All pit passes for all ages are $35.

The P&W Sales SUPR Dirt Late Model Series division will run a complete program of heat, non-qualifier and feature races. The championship feature will pay $2,000 to win and $400 to start. Normal SUPR NQ money and driver entry fees will be in effect.

BONUS! If the Friday night winner of the Ollie's Car Wash SUPR Shootout also wins the Saturday night SUPR feature event, that driver will then receive the Ollie's Car Wash 'Take 2' Bonus, which is an additional $1,000. That will make their weekend haul $5,000!

Joining the SUPR Late Model action on Saturday night will be the non-qualifier features and championship features for the LBS Winged Sprint Cars, Limited Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Stingers. The top 12 qualifiers in each of those divisions from Friday night will be locked into their respective championship feature race. The balance of their 20-car starting fields will come from the non-qualifier features. Any cars in these divisions that didn't race on Friday night will start tail-back in their non-qualifier race.

The Sprint Car feature will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start, while the Limited Modifieds will be racing for $2,000 to win and $100 to start. The Pure Stocks will be battling for $1,000 to win and $80 to start; and the Stingers will be competing for $300 to win and $60 to start. There is a $40 entry fee in the Limited Modifieds and $20 for the Pure Stocks.

Race fans, no outside food or drink is allowed through the main grandstand entrance at BRR. However, a full complement of hot food and cold drinks, including beer sales, are available at family-affordable prices.
