Southern Regional Racing Series takes tight points chase to Duck River October 5th

WHEEL, TN (September 29, 2013)—The very tight Southern Regional Racing Series Championship Points battle rolls into the Bob & Cathy Harris owned Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN on Saturday Night October 5th for a 40-lap $4,000 to win show. The race was originally scheduled to pay $3,000 to win but Preferred Sandblasting & Painting of Shelbyville, TN has upped the ante and the event will now pay $4,000 to win.
The top-two in series points have been battling it out since the season opening events as Josh Putnam of Florence, AL hold just five markers over Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN in the Championship Chase with just two events remaining on the 2013 schedule. Putnam is trying to claim his second series championship while Welshan is trying to capture his first career series title.
In the series’ last visit to Duck River Raceway Park on Thursday Night June 27th, Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC took the $3,000 Showdown payday in an exciting battle over Brad Skinner of Springhill, TN, Jeff Watson of Campbellsville, KY, Josh Putnam of Florence, AL and Ryan King of Seymour, TN.
On Saturday Night October 5th at Duck River Raceway Park the Gates will open at 4:00 pm CST and the Driver’s Meeting is slated for 6:30 pm with Hot Laps slated for 7:00 pm. Duck River Raceway Park is located at 1100 Haskins Chapel Road in Lewisburg, TN 37091. The 2-Barrel Late Models, Modified Street, Street Stock and Pure Pony will all be on the racing card for the evening’s events. Adult General Admission is $17.00 and an Adult Pit pass is $30.00.

The Duck River Raceway Park hosts special events throughout the season including the Ray Cook Spring Nationals Series, the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Southern Regional Racing Series, the United Sprint Car Series, the Kajun Mini Stock Association and the season-ending Deep Friend 75 which pays $10,000 to win for the un-sanctioned $10,000 to win event on November 14th through 16th.
