SRRS-Showdown makes first three appearances at Duck River, Boyd’s & Smoky Mtn.

TULLAHOMA, TN (June 25, 2013)—The Southern Regional Racing Series-sanctioned Second Annual Showdown is just days away.

After an exciting battle last season between two former series champions, Josh Putnam would be victorious and take home the $2,000 champions prize as the Inaugural Showdown Champion over Riley Hickman. The Showdown will open on Thursday Night June 27th at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN paying $3,000 to win, then the series moves to the Tennessee/Georgia border of Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Friday Night June 28th paying $3,000 to win. The series will move north to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN on Saturday Night June 29th paying $3,000 to win then the series will take the next three days off before heading to Wartburg (TN) Speedway on Wednesday Night July 3rd paying $4,000 to win.

The Showdown pays the top-five drivers a points fund consisting of: 1) $1,500; 2) $1,000; 3) $500; 4) $300; $5) $200 but this is based on the completion of all four racing events with a 24+ car field each night and the driver must attend all four shows to be eligible for the points fund.

On Thursday Night June 27th at Duck River Raceway Park the Gates will open at 4:00 pm CST and the Driver’s Meeting is slated for 6:30 pm CST. The 2-Barrel Late Models, Modified Street, Street Stock, Outlaw Pony, Pure Pony and Rookie Pony will all be on the card for the evening’s events. Adult General Admission is $17.00 and an Adult Pit pass is $30.00. Duck River Speedway is located at 1100 Haskins Chapel Road in Lewisburg, TN 37091. On Friday Night June 28th at Boyd’s Speedway the Gates will open at 4:00 pm EST and racing begins at 7:00 pm. The Crate Late Models, A-Hobby and B-Hobby divisions will provide support on the evening’s racing card. Adult General Admission is $15.00 with Adult Pit Passes being $30.00. A reminder to teams that Mufflers are mandatory, the SCH112530 and SCH112535 are required and no Dirt Pro Mufflers are allowed per track rules. On Saturday Night June 29th at Smoky Mountain Speedway the Pit Gates will open at 3:00 pm with Grandstand Gates opening at 5:00 pm and the Driver’s Meeting slated for 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission is $15.00 with Adult Tier Parking $20.00 and Adult Pit Passes being $35.00. The Smoky Mountain Speedway is located at 809 Brickmill Road in Maryville, TN 37801.
