BULLS GAP, Tenn. – Apr. 15, 2016 – Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn. rolled to his third-career Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series victory on Friday Night at Volunteer Speedway during the 15th Annual Spring Thaw opening night.

Marlar drove to the win in the Ronnie Delk-owned, Delk Equipment Sales, RS Equipment Sales-sponsored Cornett Racing Engines-powered Capital Race Car.

Four cautions slowed the 40-lapper. The first caution came on lap 11 as Mack McCarter slowed on the backstretch. On lap 22, Jake O’Neil slowed on the bottom of turn two and collected leader Chris Madden, causing Madden to spin around and bring out the yellow flag. Madden was then sent to the rear of the field with Marlar taking the point for the remaining 18 laps. On the 31st lap, Cody Mahoney stopped with a blown left-rear tire at the top of turn three. The final yellow came on lap 36 as Mark Vineyard spun his new Longhorn mount in turn three.

The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series will be back in action Saturday Night for a 60-lap $10,000-to-win event at Volunteer Speedway to wrap up the Spring Nationals weekend visits.
