Spring & Southern Nationals Series Issues Technical Bulletin For 2016 Season

BRASSTOWN, N.C. – Feb. 22, 2016 – With the season opener for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series less than a week away, series officials have released the amendments to the 2016 Rule Book.

The rules will apply to all Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series, Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series and Southern Nationals Bonus Series events. The rule changes stem from the Unified Rules Committee Meeting held on Wednesday February 17th in Daytona Beach, Fla. and more changes will be added in the future. The rule amendments focus on shocks, springs and suspension components.

There will be a press release later from the Unified Rules Committee with exact wording but for now these are the amendments announced. All amendments are printed in red and can be found on the website located at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com .

“Everybody working together is a good thing for our sport and I think this will help us all in the future,” stated Series Promoter Ray Cook.

Also, the tire rule for the upcoming opening events have been announced.

Tire Rule for Southern Nationals Bonus Series (Feb. 27) at 411 Motor Speedway:
Hoosier: 1350 and 1600
American Racer: 48 and 56

Tire Rule for Spring Nationals Series (Mar. 11/12) at Smoky Mtn. Speedway:
Hoosier: 1350, 1450 and 1600
American Racer: 48, 53 and 56.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series will open the 2016 campaign on Saturday February 27th with the running of the Inaugural Frostbuster 50 paying $7,151-to-win at the 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn. The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series by Schaeffer’s Oil will open the fourth season of competition on March 11/12 at the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. paying $15,000-to-win during the Third Annual Tennessee Tipoff Classic.
