Southern Nationals Gobbler at Cleveland Speedway Possible $20,077-to-win

BRASSTOWN, N. C. – Apr. 8, 2016 – Officials with the Southern Nationals Bonus Series have added three races at Cleveland (Tenn.) Speedway to the 2016 schedule which now has 16 confirmed races and two TBA races.

The ‘June Jam’ on Saturday June 4th will pay $5,000-to-win, the ‘Spooker 50’ will pay $5,000-to-win on Saturday October 29th and the 28th Annual ‘Gobbler 77’ will be ran on Thanksgiving weekend Saturday November 26th.

The ‘Gobbler 77’ will pay $10,000-to-win and $700-to-start but one driver who leads all 77 laps could walk away with more than $20,077. The leader of lap 25 will receive $2,500, the leader of lap 50 will receive $5,077 and the winner could receive an additional $2,500 if they have lead all 77 laps, been the fastest qualifier and won their respective heat race. The Gobbler 77 race will be the finals points event of the season for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series.

Lap sponsors will be sold for $100 per lap and sponsors will be recognized on the public address system and race advertising at Cleveland Speedway throughout the remainder of the season leading up to the Gobbler event. Interested parties can contact Steve Hixson at (423) 305-1513.

The Thanksgiving-weekend Gobbler 77 will feature an open practice for Super Late Models on Friday Night November 25th while Friday’s action will also feature support class preliminary action. Saturday’s action will include feature racing for all support classes and a full program for the Super Late Models including FK Rod End’s Time Trials, heat races, last chance races and the 77-lap finale. The Crate Late Models will also join in for the Friday and Saturday action racing for $3,000 in the Joe Lee Johnson Memorial (50-lap) event.

The next Southern Nationals Bonus Series event will be on Friday May 20th at Crossville Speedway paying $5,000-to-win during the series’ first-ever visit.
