Series Sponsors & Format announced for the 2013 Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series

BRASSTOWN, NC (July 10, 2013)—With less than a week before the Ninth edition of the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series begins, promoter Ray Cook has announced the race format and contingency/series sponsors for this year’s tour.

This year’s format will be different from any other season. The Performance Rod & Custom Dash has been added to this year’s lineup. There will be a full show of Practice, FK Rod Ends Qualifying ($100 Fast Time) and the Performance Rod & Custom Dash ($100 to win) which will showcase the Top-four qualifiers each night. The drivers will draw for their starting spots for the PRC Dash (4 laps) then how they finish the Dash will determine the first two rows of the Feature lineup. There will also be Last Chance Heats to set the field each night plus two series provisional for the highest drivers in points starting with the second series points race. The Feature and Dash will pay points each night.

An addition for the perfect attendance drivers this year, starting after the fourth event, the top-5 drivers with perfect attendance will be guaranteed to leave the track at each event with a minimum of $600 minimum per race. The $3,500 to win events pay $450 to start while the $5,300 to win events pay $530 to start.
