Southern Nationals Bonus Series $13,000 to win 5th Annual Deep Fried 75 at Duck River October 14, 15

BRASSTOWN, N.C. – October 8, 2016 – The Southern Nationals Bonus Series continues its stretch run of big money Super Late Model events to close out the 2016 season as the tour will visit Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN on Friday October 14 and Saturday October 15 for the 5th Annual Deep Fried 75, with Saturday night’s Deep Fried 75 A-Main seeing the winner pocket $13,000 in prize money.

There will be an open practice for all divisions for the event on Thursday October 13, with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and practice will be from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will see free admission in the general admission for anyone wanting to watch practice, while a pit pass will cost $20, with children ages 12 and under free in the pit area.

The 5th Annual Deep Fried 75 will kick off on Friday October 14 and will feature the Southern Nationals Bonus Series in action in a program of practice, A-B group time trials, and qualifying heats, along with the Battle of the States Race, that will see two drivers drawn from each state represented by the drivers at the event going into a 12 car, 10 lap shootout that will pay $1,000 to win, $500 for second, and $250 for third. Pro (Crate) Late Models will also be in action with time trials and heats, plus heats for the Street Stock and Pure Pony divisions. The 2-Barrel Late Model division will contest a full program of heats and a feature event ($700 to win), while STARS Mod Lites will also contest a full program of heats and a feature event ($600 to win).

The Deep Fried 75 will conclude on Saturday October 15 with Last Chance Showdown B-Main qualifying events for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models and the 75 lap, $13,000 to win 5th Annual Deep Fried 75 A-Main. Also on Saturday October 15 will be Last Chance Showdown B-Main qualifying events for the Pro (Crate) Late Models, Street Stocks, and Pure Pony divisions, along with the Pro (Crate) Late Model feature ($2,000 to win), Street Stock feature ($1,000 to win), and Pure Pony feature ($1,000 to win). In addition, the E-Mod division will be in competition in a full program of heats and feature event, along with the STARS Mod Lites in action in a full program of heats and $800 to win feature event.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series will utilize the following tire rule for the event at Duck River Raceway Park: Front Tires: Open; Rear Tires: Hoosier 1350 and 1600; American Racer 48 and 56. Tires will be checked and tire samples will be taken and sent to the lab to insure tires meet the proper compound benchmarks. The Southern Nationals Bonus Series will offer a $200 bonus to the highest finishing competitor using a CT525 engine in the main event, along with a $200 bonus to the highest finishing competitor using a Steel Head/SPEC engine in the main event. The entry fee for Deep Fried 75 racing weekend will be $100.

Southern Nationals Bonus Series 5th Annual Deep Fried 75 A-Main Payout (75 laps): 1st- $13,000, 2nd- $5,700, 3rd- $2,850, 4th- $1,425, 5th- $1,000, 6th- $900, 7th- $850, 8th- $825, 9th- $775, 10th- $750, 11th- $725, 12th- $715, 13th- $700, 14th- $700, 15th- $700, 16th- $700, 17th- $700, 18th- $700, 19th- $700, 20th- $700, 21st- $700, 22nd- $700.

Activities for the Friday October 14 portion of the 5th Annual Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice laps set for 7:00 p.m., with time trials and racing to follow immediately after practice. Ticket prices for Friday October 14 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, children ages 6 to 12 $5, and children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $30 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12, with children ages 5 and under free. Patrons can also purchase a two-day general admission ticket for the weekend for $40, saving $5 if a two-day general admission ticket is purchased.

Activities for the Saturday October 15 conclusion of the 5th Annual Deep Fried 75 will see the pit area and general admission areas cleared at 12:30 p.m., with gates set to reopen at 1:00 p.m. The drivers meeting set for 4:45 p.m. and practice laps will begin at 5:00 p.m., with racing to follow after practice. Ticket prices for the Saturday October 15 in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 $10, and children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $40 for adults, children ages 6 to 12 $10, and children ages 5 and under free.

Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham in Shelbyville, TN will serve as the Official Host Hotel for the 5th Annual Deep Fried 75. It is located at 1207 North Main Street in Shelbyville, TN 37160. To reserve accommodations, phone (931) 684-8343. The room rate is $75 per room plus tax and customers will need to ask for the “Deep Fried 75 rate”. Rooms are going fast and patrons need to book their rooms as soon as they can. Also, Ridgeland Inn will also have accommodations for weekend as well.

This will be the fifth edition of the Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park. Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN won the inaugural event back in 2012 over Ray Cook, Walker Arthur, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Ross Camponovo. Florence, AL native Josh Putnam won a thrilling 2013 event over Dennis Erb, Jr., Ray Cook, Tanner English, and Michael Chilton. Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN was the victor in 2014 over Dale McDowell, Steve Casebolt, Josh Putnam, and Anthony Burroughs. Frank Heckenast, Jr. of Frankfort, IL is the defending champion of the Deep Fried 75, as he would be victorious in the 2015 contest over Dale McDowell, Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth, Michael Chilton, and Billy Moyer, Jr.

The series most recent event was this past weekend at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, TN and saw current series points leader Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, GA score the biggest win of his career to date as he claimed the $10,000 victory in the Tennessee State Championship event.
