BRASSTOWN, N.C. – July 21, 2016 – Shanon Buckingham led flag-to-flag on Thursday Night to claim his first-career Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series victory at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C. Buckingham also became the 31st different winner in series history.
Buckingham drove the Double Down Motorsports, Tennessee RV Sales & Service Super Center, Grand Design, Smoky Mountain Speedway, FK Rod Ends, Hard Rock Café and Maxima Oils-sponsored Cornett-powered Longhorn Chassis to the $3,500 payday.
With Devin Gilpin’s fourth place finish, he now takes over the points with just four markers over Shanon Buckingham.
The series will return to action Friday Night July 22nd at the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Ga. for Round # 4 paying $5,300-to-win.
