Scott Bloomquist Shines in Spring Nationals Series Tennessee Tipoff Classic at Smoky Mountain

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Mar. 12, 2016 – Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. rolled to his first-career Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series victory while also becoming the 17th different tour winner on Saturday Night during the Tennessee Tipoff Classic presented by Hard Rock Café of Pigeon Forge at the Smoky Mountain Speedway.

Bloomquist and pole-sitter Randy Weaver swapped the lead multiple times during the mid-race point of the 75-lapper with Bloomquist going on to win the $15,000 first place prize. Bloomquist drove the Reece Monuments, Mark Martin Automotive, Crop Production Services, Dyna-Gro, Allstar Performance, Sorbea Chiropractic, Horton Oil, Base Race Fuels, Hawkeye Trucking, Hoosier Racing Tire, Lucas Oil Products, Ole Smoky Moonshine, Penske Shocks, Sweet Manufacturing and Wels Wheels-sponsored Andy Durham Racing Engines-powered Sweet-Bloomquist Race Cars to the victory.

Three caution flags slowed the event. On lap 38, an inadvertent caution came out, on lap 58 the next yellow came out as Tommy Kerr stopped in turn four and the final yellow flew on lap 39 as Robby Moses slowed on the front-chute with a right-front flat tire.

The next Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series by Schaeffer’s Oil events are on Friday March 25 and Saturday March 26 at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway paying $4,000-to-win and $6,000-to-win respectively.

Lucky Star 40 pays $4,000-to-win for Southern Nationals Bonus Series March 19 at Boyd’s Speedway

RINGGOLD, Ga. – Mar. 13, 2016 – The second points racing event of the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will be on Saturday Night March 19th as the tour rolls back into Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. for the third-ever series visit.

Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn. and Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C. collected wins during the 2015 season appearances to the track located on the Tennessee and Georgia state line. Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. claimed the first feature event win of the season at Boyd’s Speedway during the Cabin Fever event collecting $3,500.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series will visit the Boyd’s Speedway March 19th for a 40-lap $4,000-to-win and $400-to-start event. The Crate Late Models ($1,500-to-win), Topless Sportsman ($500-to-win), B-Hobby ($300-to-win) with 12 or more cars and Pony ($200-to-win) with 12 or more cars will also be on the running order for the evening’s event.

The tire rule for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series-sanctioned event at Boyd’s Speedway will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 compounds. The series entry fee is $100. Also, the highest finishing driver using a CT525 engine package will receive a $200 bonus and the highest finishing driver using a Steel Head/SPEC engine package will receive a $200 bonus courtesy of the series.

On Friday March 18, there will be an open practice session for all classes from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. The gates will open at 5:00 pm on practice day. Grandstand admission is free while pit passes will be $20.00 for adults.

On Saturday March 19, the pit gates will open at 3:00 pm, the grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm while the drivers meeting is set for 6:30 pm. Hot laps will roll out at 7:00 pm. All times are Eastern. Adult general admission on March 19th will be $17.00 while children 12 and under are admitted for free. Adult pit passes will be $35.00 while children 12 and under are admitted for $15.00.
