Southern Regional Racing Series-Showdown comes to Smoky Mountain Speedway on June 29th

MARYVILLE, TN (June 23, 2013)—The Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN will wrap up the Month of June with action in the Super Late Models, Crate Late Models and Street Stocks on Saturday Night June 29th as the Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) Summer Showdown presented by Stanley Best Heating & Air makes a stop in the beautiful Foothills of East Tennessee.

This will be the first of three scheduled visits by the West-Tennessee based Southern Regional Racing Series as the series will again visit Smoky Mountain on August 10th for the Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic and the 3rd Annual Triple Crown Race on November 2nd. Each SRRS event at Smoky Mountain pays $3,000 to win. This is also Night # 3 of the SRRS Showdown, as the series visits Duck River Raceway Park on June 27th and Boyd’s Speedway on June 28th before hitting the speed-plant of Smoky Mountain June 29th. The series will then visit Wartburg (TN) Speedway Wednesday July 3rd to end their Showdown.

The Southern Regional Racing Series has had five different winners in their first five events (held between February 9-June 22) as Michael Page of Douglasville, GA won the season opening event at Boyd’s Speedway followed by Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN taking the May 24th win at Thunderhill Raceway, Dane Dacus of Lakeland, TN taking victory on May 25th at Tennessee National Raceway then Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY taking the June 15th win at 201 Speedway and Chad Ogle of Sevierville, TN who is the most recent series winner at Volunteer Speedway June 22nd.

Also in action at Smoky Mountain Speedway will be the exciting Crate Late Model division which will compete for $1,000 to win and the ever-popular Street Stocks which will race for $300 to win.

The SRRS format includes a full show of practice, Qualifying (2 laps) with the Top-2 in each group locked in for the Quick 8 Dash (8 laps) then 10-lap Qualifying Last Chance Heats and the 40-lap $3,000 to win Feature event presented by Stanley Best Heating and Air.

The Pit Gates will open at 3:00 pm with Grandstand Gates opening at 5:00 pm and the Driver’s Meeting slated for 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission is $15.00 with Adult Tier Parking $20.00 and Adult Pit Passes being $35.00.

Racing action for Smoky Mountain Speedway includes the hosting of other special events throughout the 2013 season including: Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series, Ray Cook’s Spring Nationals Series, Ray Cook’s Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series, American Modified Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series, United Sprint Car Series, Southern Regional Racing Series and the Ultimate Late Models.
