Smoky Mountain Speedway set to Tipoff 2014 Racing Season in a Huge Way
Three dates from all National Tours highlight a 12-race schedule for Tennessee track

MARYVILLE, TN (November 24, 2013)—Officials with the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN have released the 12-race schedule of events for the 2014 season which promises to be the largest season on record for the track located just minutes from Knoxville, TN. Schedule highlights include visits from all National touring circuits including first-time visits from the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the National Dirt Racing League and the return of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.

The season will open on Saturday March 8th with the Tipoff Classic  featuring a first-time visit from the newly formed National Dirt Racing League for a one-night $10,000 to win Super Late Model event. Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR is the defending series champion from 2013.

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will make their return visit to Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday Night May 17th paying $10,000 to win as part of the closing of a double-header weekend with 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY the night before.

For the first time the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make a visit to Maryville, TN for the Summer Showdown, a 50-lap $10,000 to win event.

Ray Cook’s Spring Nationals Series will return for the second season on Saturday Night March 29th for a $6,000 to win event. The Ray Cook-promoted Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series will also make their third-ever visit on Friday Night August 1st paying $5,300 to win as part of the mid-summer two-week tour.

On Saturday April 26th the Southern All Stars Dirt Series will make their first of two season appearances with a $5,000 to win Rockin’ with the Stars event and will return with the $5,000 to win King of the Mountain Fall Classic on Saturday Night September 20th.

On Saturday Night May 3rd the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) will make a visit paying $3,000 to win. That weekend is part of ‘Thunder in the Smokies’ where the Sprint Cars make their lone season visits to 411 Motor Speedway on Friday Night and Smoky Mountain on Saturday Night.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will make one visit to Smoky Mountain on Friday Night July 11th paying $5,000 to win in the Firecracker 500.

The Southern Regional Racing Series will make one season appearance to Smoky Mountain on Saturday May 31st for the $5,000 to win Tearin’ the Tops off Super Late Model special.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series by CT Promotions will host the 10th Annual Ole Smoky Iron-Man Classic on Saturday Night August 16th paying $5,010 to win as the Iron-Man Classic moves to the Volunteer State for the first-time after the last nine years in Kentucky and Ohio.

The American Modified Series will also make a single-season visit to Smoky Mountain Speedway on March 29th paying $3,000 to win during the Spring Nationals Super Late Model event.

The track will host the Tennessee State Championship Race on Saturday Night October 11th with details still being finalized on this race.

During the season, other local divisions will be competing at Smoky Mountain Speedway and details about each event will be released at a later date.
