Sides Looking for First Top 10 at Stockton Dirt Track This Weekend with World of Outlaws

Inside Line Promotions - TULARE, Calif. (March 16, 2016) - Jason Sides will return to action this Friday and Saturday at the Stockton Dirt Track, where he is searching for his first career top 10.

Sides has recorded a 13th-place result each of the past two years at the 3/8-mile oval in Stockton, Calif., where the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series hosts the FVP Western Spring Shootout this weekend.

"There is usually a pretty big crowd there and a lot of the top California racers," he said. "We've only been there a few times and haven't put together a complete night yet so hopefully we'll be able to accomplish that this Friday and Saturday."

Sides is coming off a DNF at Thunderbowl Raceway last weekend, when rain wreaked havoc on the bullring. A storm rained out Friday's opening round and made for a fast track on Saturday, when Sides timed in 15th quickest in his group during qualifying.

"We were the first car to go out in our group during qualifying and that was definitely a disadvantage since the track got faster throughout qualifying," he said. "The track stayed fast all night long so it was really hard to pass."

Sides advanced from seventh to sixth place in a heat race to miss locking into the main event by only one position.

He then rallied from eighth to fourth place during the Last Chance Showdown to garner the final transfer into the main event. However, he pulled off the track prior to the midpoint of the feature and was credited with a 21st-place result.

"It was a tough track to move forward on and we went down a couple of laps early because of being in the back and having a couple restarts," he said. "It was one of those nights when we decided to play it smart and save our equipment for the next race."

White Set for ASCS National Tour Tripleheader in Texas This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - LINDSAY, Okla. (March 16, 2016) - Harli White's winged sprint car season debut was postponed last weekend because of inclement weather across the country.

White will make a second attempt at opening the sprint car season this weekend with a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour tripleheader in Texas, beginning on Thursday at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco before races on Friday and Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite.

"Our goal is to start the season on a strong note so we're looking to compete for victories this weekend," she said. "I can't wait to get on the track and get back to racing."

Thursday will mark White's debut at Heart O' Texas Speedway.

"I know it's a high-banked track that can get fairly slick," she said. "Hopefully we can knock the rust off quickly, stay out of trouble and put ourselves in a good position to be a contender."

White has recorded a top-five finish at Devil's Bowl Speedway each of the last two seasons, including a career-best second-place result at the track last year.

"I feel more comfortable every time I go to Devil's Bowl," she said. "We learn each time we hit the track there. If we can draw a decent number and move forward in the heat race I think we'll be in good shape."

Hanks Tackling Texas Tripleheader with ASCS National Tour This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - BURLISON, Tenn. (March 16, 2016) - Brandon Hanks will attempt to kick off the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour slate once again this weekend.

Following last weekend's cancelled events in Oklahoma because of inclement weather, Hanks and the series will head to Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, on Thursday before a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.

"I feel good about the whole weekend," he said. "I'm learning things as a driver. We're figuring things out on the car. If we could get top 10s out of it that'd be a good weekend."

Hanks powered from 14th to an eighth-place result last year during his lone trip to Heart O' Texas Speedway, where he earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

"I've been there a few times," he said. "I haven't been too good in the past, but I think with how we're rolling now, using things we've learned, I feel good. I'm just ready to get back on the track."

Hanks posted his career-best result at Devil's Bowl Speedway last year when he maneuvered from 19th to an 11th-place finish.

"I like racing at Devil's Bowl," he said. "I've had good cars there. We were running around third there last year during one race and my rear end broke. That was one of our more unlucky nights. However, I think we're getting better at that track so I'm looking forward to this weekend."
