Officials with Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway are pleased to announce the Impact Sign & Lighting Modified Shootout Series for the 2008 season.  The series will encompass events on June 24, August 14, and August 17 that will be in competition on the Historic ½ Mile.

“Our group is running three events during 2008 which the Modified division will be competing at and we wanted to offer up an additional incentive for those guys and a thank you for supporting us,” commented Director of Competition Clint Brown.  “For this three race series we will be keeping points and paying a point fund to the top 10 in the final standings after the final event on August 17.”

The Impact Sign & Lighting Modified Shootout Series will have points paying events on June 24, August 14, and August 17 only.  The point system will see drivers earn 100 points for a victory with a minimum of 46 points going to the final starting position in the A feature.  All drivers will earn a minimum of 35 points for each night.  At the conclusion of the August 17 event a points fund will be paid out with $500 going to the winner to $100 for 10th place.  To be eligible for point fund money a driver simply needs to compete at all three events.  No registration and no entry fee is required.

“We are happy to be able to team up with the great folks at Impact Sign & Lighting to offer this to the Modified drivers competing at Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway in 2008.  Even with no weekly racing it’s still going to be an exciting year as we play host to a stop on the grueling UMP Summer Nationals and roll off two races during the 2008 Missouri State Fair,” stated Brown.
