Gregg Satterlee Claims First LOLMDS Victory in Thrilling Fashion

Indiana, Pennsylvania (04/25/16) – Gregg Satterlee added another accolade to his list of career accomplishments on Saturday night, and he did so in thrilling fashion. The Indiana, Pennsylvania driver shot past race leader, Scott Bloomquist on the final lap on his way to the $12,000 victory with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Hagerstown Speedway.

“I’ve won a World of Outlaws features, but I had never won a Lucas Oil feature and I wanted it bad,” said Satterlee in victory lane. “To win my first Lucas Oil race by passing a legend like Scott Bloomquist on the last lap, just makes it that much more special.”

Rilat Nets Best World of Outlaws Result at Devil's Bowl during Texas Outlaw Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (April 25, 2016) - Travis Rilat was on pace for a pair of top 15s last weekend with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series before his finale was cut short because of a mechanical problem.

"It wasn't too bad of a weekend at all," he said. "Unfortunately we ended on a sour note."

Rilat opened the Texas Outlaw Nationals doubleheader at Devil's Bowl Speedway on Friday by qualifying 19th quickest. He quickly rallied from his seventh starting position in a heat race to a battle for third place before ending sixth.

"We lost some air in the right rear tire and that screwed things up so we hung on to transfer into the feature," he said.

It was good enough to lock Rilat into the 16th starting position for the main event.

"We pretty much ran where we started for most of the race," he said. "We'd gain a couple of positions and then lose a couple of spots. We ended the night moving forward so that's always a positive."

Rilat finished with a 14th-place result, which was his best World of Outlaws result at the track.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with Rilat qualifying 21st quickest.

"That's about the usual for me going to a time trial show," he said. "It's real tough when you don't run many shows that qualify. We need to go run several nights in a row to get better. Plus, I'm not a good qualifier anyhow. It gets better if you can run a few nights with them."

Rilat advanced from seventh to fifth place in a heat race to start the $20,000-to-win main event on inside of the eighth row.

"We passed a couple of cars, but the motor let go a few laps into the race," he said.

Rilat was credited with a 24th-place finish after exiting the track early.

He will take this weekend off before resuming ASCS Gulf South Region action on May 6 at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, and May 7 at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas. Rilat is ranked fifth in the championship standings - only 22 points out of the lead.

Sides Closes Texas Outlaw Nationals at Devil's Bowl Speedway with Top-10 Finish

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (April 25, 2016) - Jason Sides capped the Texas Outlaw Nationals with a top-10 result on Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway.

It was a great end to a solid doubleheader for Sides, who has four top-10 finishes in his last six World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series races.

"It wasn't too bad of a weekend," he said. "For all the rain they had the race track was in pretty good shape."

The event began on Friday with Sides qualifying seventh quickest. He then finished where he started - third - in a heat race to narrowly miss locking into the dash.

"We just missed it ever so slightly," he said. "That started us one spot out of the dash in the feature. We got going around the bottom and it was pretty good early. Then the track widened out. I'm not sure if it laid a little rubber or got cleaned off where you could run around the top. I stayed on the bottom too long. There were some ruts on the bottom in turns three and four so you had to be really careful. I fell back to 13th or 14 th, but got a couple of cars back to finish 12th."

The doubleheader concluded on Saturday with Sides setting quick time during qualifying for the first time this season.

"We were the third car out, which was a plus," he said. "That also put us on the pole of the first heat. I think the earlier heats were a little better because the track didn't dry out as much. We were really good around the bottom in turns one and two. In turns three and four you could run anywhere. I got the heat win to make the dash."

Unfortunately, the dash draw didn't fall in his favor. The highest number - six - was pulled to start Sides on the outside of the third row. He finished in that position to start the $20,000-to-win main event sixth.

"I fell back a few spots," he said. "On some of those restarts they get so hairy. Late in the race we had a red flag and we had lost a few spots. We gained a few spots back with those late yellows. The tires were still up, but they were blistered real bad. I got a little loose and I think we lost some air in the left rear and we gained some stagger. We were up to sixth, but Brad Sweet got us at the end and I hung on to seventh."

The seventh-place result marked the second straight year Sides has wrapped up the prestigious event with a top 10.

He will resume World of Outlaws action this Tuesday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., before races on Friday at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla., and Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., for the Spring Classic.

Sides has never raced with a 410ci engine at I-30 Speedway, which is hosting its first World of Outlaws race in more than 20 years. Additionally, he placed second last year during the Spring Classic.
