SAS Racing Series Budweiser Jean Johnson Memorial at Cleveland Speedway Rained Out

Fayetteville, TN-August 17, 2013- The Southern All Star Racing Series was set to make its fourth appearance of the 2013 racing season at Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN on Saturday afternoon for the Budweiser Jean Johnson Memorial event, but Mother Nature would again rear its head as it has done many times this season and alter the planned activities of the day. 

Light rain showers began to fall over the track around 4:45 p.m. and those showers would simply become steadier and steadier and track and series officials were left were left with only one option.  At 5:45 p.m., with rain showers beginning to become steadier, the event was called due to the inclement weather.  At this time, there is no make-up date scheduled for this event. 

The next event on the Southern All Star Racing Series docket will take place on Sunday September 1 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN.  The event will be the 5th Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial, paying $4,400 to win the 44 lap event at the extremely high-banked 1/3 mile red clay oval located in the beautiful mountain area of East Tennessee.
