Southern All Star Racing Series Ready for TN State Championship presented by NAPA at Smoky Mountain Speedway October 26

Fayetteville, TN- October 21, 2013- The Southern All Star Racing Series concludes the month of October with the tour’s final visit to 2013 to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN for the Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA, paying $10,000 to win and $500 to start 50 lap championship event. 

Also, as a warm-up for the Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA event, Smoky Mountain Speedway will be in action on Friday October 25 with an unsanctioned $2,000 to win/$250 to start event for Super Late Models, along with Limited Late Models racing for $2,000, Modifieds racing for $500 to win, and Mini-Stocks/FWD’s racing for $400 to win.  Adult grandstand admission is only $10, tier parking will be $15, and a pit pass will be $30, making this Friday night warm-up a must attend event to get ready for the Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA the following evening on Saturday October 26.  Although the Friday night October 25 event is unsanctioned, the track will utilize Southern All Star Racing Series rules, procedures, and tire rule. 

On Saturday October 26, the Southern All Star Racing Series will invade Smoky Mountain Speedway for the Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA and the SAS tour will be in action with a full program of practice, WhitePerformance.com Time Trials (no one is locked into the show from time trials), 8 lap Hoosier Racing Tire Qualifying Heat Races, 10 lap PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 50 lap, $10,000 to win/$500 to start Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA A-Main event.  Joining the Southern All Star Racing Series on Saturday October 26 at Smoky Mountain Speedway will be the track’s Crate Late Models division ($2,000 to win), Street Stocks ($500 to win), and Classic Cars ($500 to win).    

The visit by the Southern All Star Racing Series to Smoky Mountain Speedway will mark the tour’s 18th visit to the historic East Tennessee racing venue that once hosted NASCAR Grand National events in its early days of racing.  The tour has made two previous visits already to Smoky Mountain Speedway in 2013, with Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA winning back on March 23, while Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC was the tour’s most recent winner at the 4/10 mile red clay facility back on June 15, while Mother Nature won the event scheduled for September 21 and the race could not be rescheduled.    

Among those expected from the Southern All Star Racing Series stable of drivers include series points leader Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN, Bret Holmes of Munford, AL, Mark Rosner of Rockford, TN, Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL, Billy Ogle, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, and Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA, along with a strong array of talented local and regional racing stars such as Daniel Baggerly of Rural Retreat, VA, Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC, Eric Jacobsen of Rio Del Mar, CA, Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN, Vic HiIl of Mosheim, TN, Tommy Kerr of Maryville, TN, Mark Douglas of Knoxville, TN, Stacy Boles of Clinton, TN, Jeff Wolfenbarger of Clinton, TN, Mark Vineyard of Powell, TN, Chad Ogle of Sevierville, TN, Jake Henry of Newport, TN, Bobby Giffin of Maryville, TN, Michael Asberry of Crossville, TN, David Crabtree of Maryville, TN, Bryan Hendrix of Knoxville, TN, Sammie Russell of Madisonville, TN, Robby Moses of Friendsville, TN, Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN, Dusty Carver of Englewood, plus many more top drivers from around the Southeast and rest of the country are expected.  The tour has presented twenty events so far in 2013 and has seen twelve different drivers visit victory with the series this season.
Activities for the Southern All Star Racing Series October 26 Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA at Smoky Mountain Speedway will see the pit area open at 2:00 p.m., while the general admission and tier parking areas will open at 5:00 p.m.  There will be a driver’s autograph session in the main grandstand area from 5:15 p.m. until 5:45 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 6:30 p.m.  Practice laps will begin at 6:50 p.m., following immediately by time trials and green flag racing.  All times listed are EDT.  Ticket prices for the Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA event on Saturday October 26 for adults will be $20 in the general admission area and $25 in the tier parking area.  A pit pass will be $40.  Special two-day pass ticket prices will also be available, with ticket prices for both days in the general admission area going for $25 and $35 for both days in tier parking, while a two-day pit pass will be $65.      

Southern All Star Racing Series Tennessee State Championship presented by NAPA A-Main Payout for Saturday October 26: 1st- $10,000, 2nd- $5,000, 3rd- $2,500, 4th- $2,000, 5th- $1,500, 6th- $1,300, 7th- $1,200, 8th- $1,100, 9th- $850, 10th- $800, 11th- $750, 12th- $700, 13th- $650, 14th- $600, 15th- $550, 16th- $500, 17th- $500, 18th- $500, 19th- $500, 20th- $500, 21st- $500, 22nd- $500, 23rd- $500, 24th- $500.  

The entry fee for the Saturday October 26 event at Smoky Mountain Speedway is $125 and can be made payable to the Southern All Star Racing Series.  The tire rule is exclusively Hoosier Tires and the only compounds eligible to be used are the Hoosier 1350, 1450, 1600, 21, 55, and 70 compounds, along with the Lucas Oil 03, 05, and 06 compounds.
