Alabama State Championship Races Up Next for SAS Racing Series September 28, 29

Fayetteville, TN- September 21, 2013- The Southern All Star Racing Series concludes the month of September with a doubleheader of racing action on Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29 at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL as the SAS tour will sanction, for the first-time ever, the 35th Annual Alabama State Championship Races, with a full program of SAS Racing Series completion on Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29, with the A-Main at both events paying $4,000 to win and $300 to start.      

The first half of the 35th Annual Alabama State Championship Races will take place at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL on Saturday September 28 and will feature a complete program of practice, WhitePerformance.com A-B Group Time Trials, PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 40 lap, $4,000 to win Alabama State Championship A-Main.  Support divisions set to join the Southern All Star Racing Series in action at East Alabama Motor Speedway on Saturday September 28 will be time trials for the Late Model Sportsman and Crate Late Models, along with heats for the Bombers and Hobbys.  Time trials start for the support divisions at Noon on Saturday, while the racing program for the Southern All Star Racing Series will begin with practice at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.  Last Chance and Feature events for the KMSA Mini-Stocks and Cruisers will conclude the evening’s racing program.

The second half of the 35th Annual Alabama State Championship Races will conclude on Sunday afternoon September 29 at East Alabama Motor Speedway and will feature a complete program of practice, WhitePerformance.com A-B Group Time Trials, PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 40 lap, $4,000 to win Alabama State Championship A-Main.  Support division action joining the Southern All Star Racing Series on Sunday afternoon September 29 will include feature events for the Late Model Sportsman ($5,000 to win), Crate Late Models ($5,000 to win), Super Street ($3,000 to win), Hobbys ($3,000 to win), and Bombers ($3,000 to win).  The SAS Racing Series portion of the program will begin with practice laps at Noon on Sunday September 29.

There will also be an open practice on Friday September 27 that will see the gates open at Noon with open practice for all divisions in competition at the 35th Annual Alabama State Championship Races, with KMSA Mini-Stocks and Cruisers beginning heat races at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

The visit by the Southern All Star Racing Series to East Alabama Motor Speedway will mark only the third ever series visit to the famous East Alabama racing facility.  Jonathan Davenport won in the tour’s stop earlier there this season back in March, while National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member Larry Moore won in the tour’s only other visit to the historic facility back in May of 1984.

Activities for the Southern All Star Racing Series 35th Annual Alabama State Championship Races at East Alabama Motor Speedway on Saturday September 28 will see the pit area and general admission areas open at 8:00 a.m., while activities for the SAS Racing Series will begin with practice laps starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday September 28.  On Sunday September 29, the pit area and general admission areas will open at 9:00 a.m., while activities for the Southern All Star Racing Series portion of the program will begin at Noon.  Ticket prices for the Alabama State Championship Races at East Alabama Motor Speedway for Saturday September 28 in the general admission area will be $30 for adults and a pit pass will be $40.  Ticket prices for Sunday September 29 in the general admission area will be $30 for adults, while a pit pass will be $45.  A two-day pass for Saturday and Sunday in the general admission area will be $50 for adults, while a two-day pass for Saturday and Sunday in the pit area will be $75.  

Southern All Star Racing Series 35th Annual Alabama State Championship A-Main Payouts for Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29:  1st- $4,000, 2nd- $2,000, 3rd- $1,000, 4th- $750, 5th- $650, 6th- $550, 7th- $525, 8th- $500, 9th- $450, 10th- $425, 11th- $400, 12th- $350, 13th- $340, 14th- $330, 15th- $320, 16th- $310, 17th- $300, 18th- $300, 19th- $300, 20th- $300, 21st- $300, 22nd- $300, 23rd- $300, 24th- $300.

The entry fee for the Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29 35th Annual Alabama State Championship Races at East Alabama Motor Speedway is $100 each day and can be made payable to the Southern All Star Racing Series.  The tire rule is exclusively Hoosier Tires and the only compounds eligible to be used are the Hoosier 1350, 1450, 1600, and 70 compounds.
